1 June 27 Nov. 8, 2015 Summer is finally here! It is so nice to have the cold winter of behind us! Hopefully most of you were able to attend Father Andrew s meeting about the changes in our ministry. I think things have gone very smoothly the past few weekends with the changes. Thanks for your flexibility. I know some of you will welcome the railing in the back on the altar steps once it is installed. I just want to reemphasize his request to be a little more animated when you welcome people to our church as the commentator. It is so important to make people feel welcome, whether it s their first time in our church or they have been attending our church for 20 years. Many thanks to those of you who sent me their vacation plans. Please, please, please remember to find coverage if you are scheduled for a date when you cannot read. If sending an doesn t get results, try making phone calls. Not all of our lectors have accounts. Some of you will find that you are scheduled to read every 2 or 3 weeks to cover for those on vacation so please check the schedule carefully and always check to see if you are scheduled for the 6 PM mass. I m going to apologize if you told me that you were not willing to read at the 6 PM mass and you find yourself scheduled to read at that mass on this schedule. I have copious notes and keep track when I schedule people to read at that mass but right now, I cannot put my hands on the binder that has those notes. We had a water pipe burst while we were away this winter and that binder is in one of the 87 bins of things that were salvaged. The good news is that we are very close to being able to move back into the part of the house that was damaged and I should find the binder before I do the next schedule. If you are scheduled to read at 6 PM and cannot do it, please, please, please be sure to find a replacement. Remember that Edward Mooney and Anne Marie Kelly graciously said that they would be willing to fill in at that mass but you need to pick up the phone to contact them. Only one person is scheduled to read at that mass and my biggest fear is that they don t show up. We say goodbye to two special lectors. Ali Civaglia is moving to Marlton and therefore leaving our parish. Nick Proto will be heading off to college this fall. The parish has been very fortunate to have them both share their talents with us and we wish them all the best in the future. This schedule goes through the first weekend in November, which means the holidays will be right around the corner. If you have holiday plans that would prevent you from reading during the Christmas or Easter masses or if you have a preference for reading (or not reading) at a particular mass, please let me know by October 15 th. You can me or put a note in the reader s mailbox. Wishing you all a peaceful, relaxing summer. Safe travels to all! Ingrid
