5 MATERIAL Titanium Ti-s6Al-4V (Grade 5) All MiPRO Produts are made from the most common type of titanium used in medicine - Titanium 6AL4V and 6AL4VELI alloys. This titanium features 6% Aluminum and 4% Vanadium. Because of its harmonizing factor with the human body. 6 SURFACE TREATMENT Outstanding XPS & SEM results Our implants are treated with a large grit acid etching and sand blasting process. Each and every implant is individually blasted with abrasive particles in anautomated system whice controls the speed, direction, pressure and size of the particles that collide with the implant. This method creates high surface area differences allow more intense absorption of plasma proteins and blood into the implant micropres, faster osseointegration and higer primary stability. This process ensures the same process and demonstrate the same excellent surface characteristics. Titanium is very good material for this kind of implant due to its biocompatibility. the SLA ( Sand-blasting and acid etching ) surface treatment on Ti implants has as goal to control the surface roughness, to improve osseointegration and to increase the stability of boneanchored dental implants. A multicentric study, which included universities and private practices, investigated MiPRO implants with SLA Surface. The implants were placed in the maxilla and the mandible. The study protocol included immediate loading. A total of190 implants placed in fresh extraction alveoli. After 8 months 8 implants in 5 patients had been lost, 6 in the mandible and 2 the maxilla. After 6 months under load 98.4% of the implants were osseointegrated and functional. 6
