3 IDEM Singapore Striving for Clinical Excellence T he 2016 edition of IDEM Singapore continues the traditions established since its inception in 2000 the very best of clinical dental practice, innovative techniques, and emerging biomaterials all presented and discussed by many of the world s experts in practice, education and research. The theme, Striving for Clinical Excellence acknowledges the professional journey, that our learning is never finished, that we can always do better for our patient s oral health, through integration of newer technologies, scientific discoveries in all the health sciences, and an understanding of disease at the molecular level. The invited speakers for IDEM Singapore 2016 all epitomize the ongoing journey of Striving for Clinical Excellence. They are leaders, role-models and mentors from private practice, publically-funded clinics, university teaching, cutting-edge research and development institutes, and government service. All abstracts accepted for the Competitive Poster Competition stand a chance to win up to SGD 6,000 in cash prizes! GUIDELINES Submissions should fall into the following categories: General Dentistry and Oral Health Preventive Dentistry Dental Treatment & Restorative Dentistry Oral Surgery & Oral Medicine Submit your poster abstracts via the online submission portal bitly.com/idempostercomp before November 30, Abstract should not exceed 250 words and should contain the following information: Title (max 20 words) Specific Object of Study Method used (if pertinent) Result of the study in summary Conclusion Abstracts should be submitted in good English and standard abbreviations may be used. Section breaks are not mandatory. JUDGING PROCESS A preliminary jury will convene after the closing of the submission period to vet through all abstracts. Submissions will be split into two categories: Competitive Posters in this category will undergo a second round of judging during IDEM Singapore 2016 and stand a chance to win cash prizes. Non-Competitive Posters in this category will be displayed during IDEM Singapore 2016.^ ^upon successfully passing the first round of judging Finalists must register as a conference delegate before January 31, 2016 for their posters to be displayed. 11 New Dentist Forum April 9, 2016 Held on Level 3 New Dentists those within five years of graduating with a dental degree and final year dental students will have the opportunity of not only attending the main scientific sessions with all the world-class clinicians presenting, but will have a full day of two unique and exclusive sessions just for themselves. The line-up will include a diverse range of dentists and other professionals is the early stages of their career.
