School Facility and Services Location, Building Access and Hours: Dental hygiene CLINIC address: 3325 Community Drive, Hastings, Nebraska Telephone number and contact name for questions regarding the school, equipment, etc.: Dr. Wanda Cloet, Directions to Clinic entrance: Enter the Gausman Building. Building open 6:00am-6:00pm daily for duration of exam. Parking: Specify parking availability for Candidates and Patients: Park in front of Gausman Building Security and Emergency Services: Campus security: or ATM Machine: None available. Food Services Onsite: Vending machines, campus cafeteria, and campus snack bar. 2. Preparing for the Hygiene Exam Patient Screening: Policy regarding facility availability for patient screening by Candidates: Friday, April 19, Radiographs: Digital x-rays (phosphor plates) or (Dexis sensor) Fees: $20 Bite-wing X-rays, $30- FMX-rays, $30-panorex (CASH ONLY) Administration of Local Anesthetic: Practitioner(s) (meeting prescribed criteria as stated in the Candidate Guide) will be AVAILABLE during the exam to administer local anesthesia to all Candidate Patients at no charge. Equipment, Instruments and Expendable Dental Materials: Refer to the respective WREB Candidate Guide for a list of materials and armamentarium that the Candidate must provide. A. Handpiece and Prophy Angle Hookups: Central Community College dental operator chairs feature a five-hole air connection. Handpieces are available for rent for $150 (CASH ONLY) Advance notification is required. B. Sonic/Ultrasonic Devices: No operatories are not equipped for hookup of these devices. However, candidates can bring self-contained (water) ultrasonic units. Dentsply cavitrons (30K) and EMS piezo units are available at $150 (CASH ONLY). No inserts are available for rental. 4 C. Air/Water Syringe Tips: Disposable tips are available as expendable materials. D. Blood Pressure Cuffs and Stethoscopes: No, they are not available. E. Expendable Materials: See Appendix A. Sterilization Services: Thursday, April 18: 9 am-5 pm. Friday, April 19: 6 am-6 pm Saturday, April 20: 6 am- 2 pm. Candidates retaking onsite will need their instruments sterilized prior to retake clinic entrance. 3. During the Clinical Exam Dental Operatory Units: Dental Chair: Midmark Ultracomfort Dental Chair, Dental Station: Midmark Procenter Instrument Delivery System Infection Control (Surface Asepsis): Handles of the unit light, chair and chair controls must be covered with barriers. Dental chair and operator stools should be cleaned with soap. Dental unit and counter tops should be disinfected with wipes. Universal infection control guidelines and Personal Protective Equipment and guidelines should be observed during the WREB exam at CCC. A. Hazardous Waste Disposal Any blood/saliva-soaked waste is considered hazardous and should be disposed of in the available/provided biohazard bags. B. Sharps Disposal: Sharp containers are located in the dental hygiene sterilization area. Needles and cartridges are placed in sharps container. Emergency Medical Equipment: Emergency equipment is located in the west hallway next to the two candidates exam area. The following equipment and supplies are available: Medical emergency kit, one ambubag, small and large syringes, several airways of various sizes. Oxygen is available in the nitrous unit in the cubicle. There are also oxygen tanks in the clinic. There is an AED near the clinic entryway. School Name Page 4 of 8
