3 Introduction Welcome to MCNA Dental! MCNA Dental is the Medicaid dental plan for the entire state of Louisiana. We administer the dental benefits for eligible children and adults. MCNA Dental has a large network of general and specialty dentists throughout Louisiana to make sure you can get the high quality dental care you need. The dentists in this Provider Directory are contracted with us to provide you with dental services. This Directory also tells you which dentist you can go to when you need special dental care. You can pick from one of our dentists who are located close to where you live or work. You can also pick a dentist that speaks your preferred language. Call our Member Hotline toll-free at or us at MemberHotline@mcna.net if you would like help finding a dentist. You can also call this number if your current dentist is not listed in this Provider Directory. If you are deaf or hearing impaired, call the toll-free TTY number at for help. Good dental health is important to us. We hope you use the dental benefits offered by MCNA. We look forward to serving you! What is a Primary Care Dentist? A Primary Care Dentist (PCD) can be a general dentist or a dentist who only treats children. This is the dentist who gives you services that prevent problems with your teeth. If you already have a problem with your teeth, this dentist can treat it in most cases. Your Primary Care Dentist can send you to a specialist for problems that are harder to fix. A member with special healthcare needs can choose a specialist as their Primary Care Dentist. Adult Denture Program members are not assigned to a Primary Care Dentist. How can I find a dentist? A list of dentists in your area can be found in this Provider Directory. You may choose any dentist listed in the directory. This directory will also give you information about each dentist such as: Office telephone number Dentist practice name Type of practice Practice address After you pick a dentist, call their office to make your first dental visit. Remember to take your Medicaid Card with you to the visit. If you need help with finding a dentist or making an appointment, call our Member Hotline toll-free at If there are no dentists in your area, we will assist you in locating an out-of-network dentist near your home.
