21 Soft tissue management Multifunctional the TempBase 3-in-1 concept The multifunctional TempBase is premounted on all Xive S plus implants as a placement head. It can be used as a temporary abutment, on which you can place a temporary restoration without replacing components and thus without additional compromise to the surrounding tissue structures and costs. The prefabricated, clippable TempBase Cap enables a fast and easy temporary restoration (for max. 3 months) closest to that of a final crown with a single-stage chairside procedure immediately after implant placement. A second surgical procedure is not required with this nonfunctional immediate restoration. In case of submerged healing, an impression can be taken using the TempBase directly after surgery. The dental laboratory can use this impression to fabricate a high-quality, precision fit temporary restoration during the healing phase, which can then be immediately placed after a second-stage surgical procedure.
