Flip Over Gymnastics Parent Handbook ~Tumble into the magical world of gymnastics~ Mission Statement At Flip Over Gymnastics, our goal is to provide a safe, exciting and dynamic gymnastics program that serves our community. We strive to teach our participants to set goals, focus on progressions, and thrive for success!
Welcome to Flip Over Gymnastics The staff of Flip Over Gymnastics would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our program! Here at Flip Over Gymnastics we strive to offer a variety of programs so there is something for everyone! First, we provide recreational classes for toddlers through 18 years of age. We also offer specific recreation classes for boys, tumbling, trampoline, obstacle course running, and more. Flip Over Gymnastics is also the home to 3 competitive teams: Trampoline and Power Tumbling team, Excel Team, and J.O. Team. And for those customers who are interested in an environment with less structure, we offer open gyms and birthday parties. We are continuously adding classes and creating new time slots, so keep an eye out for new information. PROGRAM POLICIES Please become familiar with the following policies in terms of the program provided by Flip Over Gymnastics. ENROLLMENTS Our program runs all year round on a month to month schedule. All enrollments are first come first serve. We offer multiple sessions of most classes. If the class you want is full we will try our best to accommodate you. Unfortunately, each class has a maximum number of students permitted per instructor. This is implemented so that classes are appropriately staffed and all students receive instruction properly. If you are not sure what class to put your child in, we do have try-a-class for NEW customers only. You may bring your child to ONE class so they can try it out free of charge by registering in our store. PAYMENT Enrollment fee is due by the1st of every month. We offer an early bird discount if payment is submitted before the 1 st. If you pay after the 1 st of the month, the early bird discount will not be honored. We send out our staff schedule the 1 st of the month, and we want to ensure we are staffed properly. We do offer a multi child/multi class discount. If you have more than one child in our program and/or you sign up for multiple classes you will receive a $5 discount. Our prices are based on 4 classes per month. If your child s class has fewer classes in that month due to a holiday, we will offer makeup classes or an open gym pass. REFUND AND TRANSFER POLICY CLASSES: The only time refunds/transfers are given is if your child is ill or injured. We must have documentation in order to issue that refund. We do not offer a refund if a child does not like or participate in class. BIRTHDAY PARTIES: Deposits are non-refundable for parties canceled by the host within one month (30 days) of their scheduled party date. Full refunds will be given if you party is canceled by Flip Over Gymnastics program.
MAKE-UP POLICY If your child misses a class, he/she is entitled to one open gym pass or make-up class per month. If Flip-Over Gymnastics cancels a class, the student enrolled will be entitled to a make-up class or open gym pass. You must miss the class before a make-up class or open gym pass can be issued. MAKE- UP CLASSES: Make-up classes must be done within 4 weeks of missing class or your make-up class option is invalid. Please let our office know 24 hours in advance if you are trying to schedule a make-up. We will accommodate you to the best of our abilities. You may NOT just show up for a make-up class. If the instructor feels it is unsafe, they deserve the right to turn you away. OPEN GYM PASSES: Open gym passes are valid for two months. You must obtain open gym passes in the office. Everyone (adults, children, etc) MUST fill out an online Smart Waiver before entering the gym. INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELATION POLICY. WE DO NOT FOLLOW BERKELEY/MORGAN/JEFFERSON COUNTY SCHOOL SCHEDULE WHEN IT COMES TO CLOSINGS, DELAYS, AND/OR DISMISSALS! If we choose to cancel classes for weather or any other unexpected reason we will do the following: send out a parent , send out a text message, put it on our answering machine, and post it on Facebook. PROCEDURES AND PROTOCOL FOR CLASSES: Sign in- On the first day of class each month, there will be a check in table. Please visit us there to ensure your child is registered in the proper class. Registered students- Only registered students are allowed in the gym during classes (unless instructed otherwise). A parent/guardian must be present in order for any child to leave to building! Students are never permitted to wait outside the building regardless of the reason. We understand that this may be inconvenient; nevertheless, we are keeping your child safe. Please be sure to discuss this with your child. If you are more than 15 minutes late picking up your child, Flip Over Gymnastics has the right to charge a babysitting fee ($10 an hour) for the instructor s time. Liability waivers: Your child needs a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian in order to enter our gymnastics facility. THIS WAIVER MUST BE SIGNED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!! No parents- Parents are not permitted in the gym during classes at any time unless otherwise instructed by Flip Over Gymnastics staff. A parent observation room has been set up so parents can watch his/her student when in class. Having more individuals in the gym than necessary is a safety hazard for students and instructors! Medical conditions- Please inform Flip Over Gymnastics of any and all medical conditions or needs than an instructor should be aware of. To ensure that every child in our program receives the best instruction possible, it is imperative that your child s instructor is aware of conditions prior to the beginning of class. Lesson plans will be adapted accordingly. If something should occur, the instructor will be able to act with knowledge of your child s condition.
Please review these rules with your child and help the instructors keep your student and others safe from harm. We truly appreciate your understanding in this area of our program! GYM RULES Flip Over Gymnastics has organized a strict list of rules that must be followed. Gymnastics is a dangerous sport that can result in paralysis or death. Please go over these rules with your child! These are the GENERAL rules that apply to all classes, open gyms, and parties. SOCKS AND SHOES Shoes are NOT permitted on any soft or bouncy surface in the gym (e.i. pits, trampolines, tumble track, mats). Clean indoor cheer shoes may be worn for designated tumbling classes/ open gyms. Socks are not recommended to be worn for open gym or general gymnastics classes. Socks are encouraged for trampoline classes. DRESS ATTIRE All students should be dressed in gym or workout clothing. No Jewelry No loose or baggy clothing. This can be a safety hazard for instructors spotting the gymnast. Hair MUST be pulled back and out of face. No tutu skirts or tights with feet. No hook bras. If these get caught on our trampolines and destroy the bedding. FOOD AND DRINKS Food/drinks/gum is never permitted in the gym. Only team members are allowed to keep water in their assigned area. Our equipment is rather costly and if something is spilled, it must be cleaned. FIGHTING/FOUL LANGUAGE Fighting is not tolerated in our gym. The first incident of fighting, the gymnasts will be kicked out of our program. Foul language and/or inappropriate subject content are not tolerated in our gym. The instructor will correct the behavior. If the behavior continues the gymnast will be removed from class. Horseplay, pushing, and/or shoving are not permitted in our program. We also do NOT tolerate BULLYING of any kind in our program. ONE AT A TIME There is only one person at a time allowed on all pieces of apparatus. **Lastly, you are financially responsible if your child destroys a piece of equipment in our facility. This includes blocks, hula hoops, balls, mirrors, lighting equipment, etc Flip Over Gymnastics staff has the right to remove any person(s) who violate these rules or displays any behaviors that could potentially harm themselves or others around them. No refunds will be given in these occurrences. These rules are general rules for inside the gym. Various areas of the facility will have additional rules and regulations that are discussed frequently with classes. Please be sure to discuss these rules with your student and encourage them to constantly listen to the instructions when in class.
SMART WAIVER Every person who enters the gymnasium must have a smart waiver filled out. This is a liability waiver filled out ONLINE, we do not offer a paper version of this waiver. We must account for every single person who walks into our facility for legal purposes. You can find this waiver at There is no exception to this rule. Click under gymnastics and scroll down! Refusal to fill out this waiver results in no entry to the gymnastics area. LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS Flip Over Gymnastics and M-BC Parks and Recreation have provided storage areas to place participants items. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. We suggest that students keep his/her belongings in a bag with a name on the bag! We have a lost and found box underneath the table in the parent room. If you or your child loses something of value (phone, watch, ipod, etc) we keep it locked in the office until it is claimed. GYM STORE / OFFICE In the gym store you may do the following: register for classes, schedule/pay for a birthday party, get open gym passes, schedule a make-up class, and inquire about our program. Please visit our gym store to purchase your gymnastics apparel. The inventory is constantly changing, and we love to provide our students with the best! We have selections of many materials including the following: T-Shirts, shorts, leotards, sports bags, and much more. Hours of operation are as follows: Monday Thursday 10am to 6pm. Friday 10am to 12pm. OPEN GYM Open gym is for anyone and everyone. No registration is needed. It is $6 per hour to come and enjoy our facility. All you need to do is fill out a digital waiver for every person entering the gymnasium, which we keep on file for a year. There are instructors available to supervise, but it is independent practice. There is not structure provided as there would be in a class setting. We do have specific times blocked off for specific ages; this is for your child s safety only. Please follow these guidelines. You can find times and the digital waiver at Just click on gymnastics. BIRTHDAY PARTIES Does your gymnast talk about gymnastics all the time? Would you love to give your child a birthday party to remember? Flip Over Gymnastics is the right place for your child s ultimate birthday experience! Our parties allow you to have an energy filled party, including trampolines, competitions, games, obstacles, and much more! For more information, please contact us!
