Hunter Cognitive Effort and Exercise Study (Co-PI): Designed to assess the impact of mental fatigue and exercise following mental fatigue on caloric consumption. - Responsibilities include design of study, IRB documents, recruitment, and running of all participants, management of all data, analysis of all data, and dissemination of results - Skills learned include VO 2 testing and use of metabolic cart, analysis of percent body fat, measurement of arterial elasticity, measurement of blood glucose and lactate, measurement of energy consumption, measurement of working memory and cognitive fatigue, CPR and First Aid certifications Executive Function and Weight Loss Maintenance (2015 Present) Project Funded by R03 Administrative Supplement. PI: Gareth Dutton and Marissa Gowey Research Assistant - Responsibilities include administration and scoring of Executive Function and Cognitive Function test battery to individuals who have or have not maintained weight loss Graduate Research with Dr. Gary Hunter, PhD. (2010 Present) Interdisciplinary (Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, and Psychology) research - Involvement with multiple studies with Dr. Hunter as PI, each funded by NIH R01 (JULIET, SWEETS, and INTENSITY) - Experiences include examining changes in psychometric measures following a 32 week exercise intervention. Experience conducting tests of aerobic fitness and other fitness measures.
