These exercises are notably used to develop the rectus abdominis and superior oblique muscles. 14 PRECAUTIONS Warning: to reduce risks of serious injury, please read the important precautionary measures below before using this appliance. 1. Please completely read the instructions in this manual before using this appliance. Use this appliance only in the manner described in this manual. Keep this manual for further reference. 2. The assembly of this appliance should be done by an adult. 3. It is up to the owner to make sure that all the users of this appliance are suitably informed of all the precautionary measures. 4. Domyos shall take no responsibility in case of claim for injury or damages to any person or property resulting from improper use of this appliance by the purchaser or anyone else. 5. This appliance is only intended for home use. Do not use this appliance in a commercial, rental or institutional context. 6. Use this product indoors, away from moisture and dust, on a level and solid surface and in an uncluttered area. Be sure there is enough space for safe access to and passage around the product. Cover the floor beneath the product for protection. Use the BT300 only on a well built and sturdy door. 7. DECATHLON shall not be held responsible in case of degradation of installations. 8. Do not store this appliance in a damp place (swimming pool vicinity, bathroom.) 9. After assembling the appliance and before every use, check that attachment elements are correctly tightened and do not overlap. Immediately replace any worn out or defective parts. 10. Always wear sports shoes for foot protection while exercising. Always wear appropriate clothing when exercising. DO NOT wear loose clothing that could become caught in the appliance. Remove any jewelry. 15

If you feel pain or if you feel dizzy while exercising, immediately stop and rest. 13. If you begin to feel your muscles tiring, rest for a while before continuing. Do not exhaust your muscles! It could only bring exhaustion or possibly an injury. 14. Keep children and household pets away from the appliance at all times. 15. Take the necessary steps so that the door is not opened while you are training. 16. Do not tinker with your appliance. 17. In case of degradation of your appliance, bring it back to your Decathlon shop and do not use the appliance until it is completely repaired. Only use Decathlon spare parts. 18. Always warm up before exercising. Start training slowly and set yourself realistic aims. 19. Breathe! Do not block your breath in spite of the effort. WARNING Consult your doctor before starting an exercise program. This is particularly important for people over 35 or having had health problems and if you have not practiced any sport for several years. Read all the instructions before use. 16 APPLICATION (E) Open the door, loosen the tightening knob and place the BT300 under the door as indicated in figure. Place the BT300 at the bottom center of the door and tighten the knob again. Take care not to damage the door s surface. Close the door and lock it before using the BT300. The height of the BT300 can be adjusted, loosen the wing nut and move the toe clip bar on the desired position. Place the wing nut back and tighten it. BASIC MOVEMENT (F) Place your feet in the emplacements foreseen to that effect. To start with, slowly lift your head and shoulders from the ground and bend the torso until your shoulders no longer touch the ground. Pause. Breathe out while lifting your torso and contract your muscles. Breathe in going back down to the ground. Release to come back to the starting position. OBLIQUE (G) Hands behind the head, at the end of the lifting movement, do a rotation to the right and to the left. Release to come back to the starting position 17

6 XP_NOTICE_BT300_OK.qxd 28/11/08 10:59 Page 10 LUMBAR (H) Place yourself on your stomach. Hold the toe-clip bar. Lift your legs from the ground. Hold a few seconds and release. Repeat the movement some ten times. Caution: do not hollow the back. ABDOMINALS LOWER PART (I) Grab hold of the toe-clip bar. Lift your legs from the ground as indicated in the drawing. Repeat the movement some twenty. ABDOMINALS UPPER PART (J) Same movement as the basic one. Lock your movement in mid course, maintain for 2-3 seconds and release Repeat the movement some twenty times 18 TRAINING If you are not a sportsperson, respect the beginner s training level for the first 3 to 4 weeks. As for breathing, you must breathe out when making efforts and breathe in coming back to the starting position. Thus, you breathe out when contracting the abdominals and you breathe in when relaxing them. Rhythm your breathing on the rate of your exercise so as not to loose your breath. Add aerobic exercises to your training program such as walking, racing, swimming or bicycle riding. Give your muscles at least 1 day of rest every week between two consecutive trainings. It is important to isolate the abdominal muscles and to work them with controlled movements. You should try to do 3 to 4 series for each exercise, 15 to 20 repetitions per series. Vary the order of your exercises so as not to accustom your abdominals to an exercising rhythm and order. 19

DOMYOS S obligation in compliance with this warranty is limited to the product s replacement or repair, at DOMYOS S convenience. All the products for which the warranty is applicable, shall be accepted by DOMYOS in one of its authorized service centers, sent postage paid together with the proof of purchase.
