TECHNOLOGIES BY HDTS COMPANY IN HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT CENTER HDC SLOVAKIA
A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE CENTER Diagnostic and training center, which has prepared various types of programs aimed not only at improving the overall development and abilities of the player, but also contributing to the implementation of individualization in groups or teams. Assist in the education of players in applying the principles of comprehensive player care (sports training, including diagnostics, mental preparation, nutrition, regeneration) in the short and long-term training. Our goal is to improve the readiness of players and their overall development. During our trainings, we have individual approach to each player. Picture 1 Training on HST skatemill SLOVAK REPUBLIC 2
Technologies in HDC center FUSION SKATING Fusion Skating is our main product; it consists of hockey treadmill, skating analysis, peripheral navigation, set of over 150 categorized exercises and much more... HST SKATING TREADMILL A 230 GENERATION 004B The fourth generation of skating treadmill delivers unique features to assist the development of not only skating skills, but also crucially develop individual skills of the players. Allows you to improve skating technique training methods and video analysis, which can not be applied on the ice. The player is skating on the treadmill still in one place so it can be very accurate and detailed monitoring of the movement by two cameras from front and side. Detailed analysis of the skating technique is a valuable asset for coaches as they can plan steps to improve players skating technique. Static position allows players to train number of specialized exercises, which cannot be performed on ice. Coordination, proper movement of the legs, arms and the whole body is achieved by training exercises aimed at multi-tasking, stick, peripheral Picture 2 HST Skating Treadmill A B in HDC Centre vision, shooting and so on. Skating Treadmill can also be used on specialized training for players after injury. Special exercises contributes to faster return to the game. Hockey Treadmill is a comprehensive solution for improving skating technique, individual skills, development of speed, endurance, dynamic and reflective power. SLOVAK REPUBLIC 3
Skating Analysis Picture 3 Skating Analysis Skating Analysis is complex analysis system for hockey skating technique. It is used to record a player during skating without weight and during various parts of a game by registering monitored parameters in key positions. Moreover, the system allows you to compare two pictures (e.g. input and output assessment) and gives visual feedback to the player so that he can have a rear view of his practice and can see what he needs to work on. To be a good skater, you have to start from scratch and in youth gain proper skating habits. Skating technique should be improved in every age. Bad habits are difficult to correct the errors in skating technique requires first rigorous analysis and than practice to eliminate errors. Most of the testing is done on the skating treadmill. Skating Analysis system is revamped analysis skating techniques. It is used for capturing player skating at no load and with the implementation of gaming activities in Picture 4 Skating Analysis the form of drawing the endpoints in each key positions. The system also allows you to compare scannings (eg. Input and output assessment) and provide visual feedback to the player, which can look at himself after exercise and can work on their improvement right away. INSTRUCTOR Instructor belongs to product group Fusion Skating and is an essential part of the skating treadmill HST A th.Hockey skating treadmill is not just monotonous skating practice. It is also a tool for implementing many interesting exercises. Hundreds of exercises show the wide range of uses in the skating treadmill training process with hockey players. Instructor provides clear Video recording of more than 200 exercises. Each exercise is also recorded at different angles, providing a detailed view of the correct execution of the exercises. Each video includes a description of the practice and its inclusion given the technical level skater. SLOVAK REPUBLIC 4
Picture 5 Instructor Instructor provides guidance on the use of various training aids. It contains specific exercises designed to develop speed, explosiveness, reaction, coordination and so on. Interesting exercises are designed for multitasking, which aim to achieve automation in motor learning of a hockey player. Skating treadmill becomes in the hands of the coach powerful tool to learn quickly perform physical activities while skating. Allows you to build your own individual-specific program, choose exercises with regard to the performance level and age of the skater. Coach gives complete instructions on how should the training process involves different devices, and thus training more attractive. The coach provides inspiration and ideas for creating custom exercises. Training with Instructor is for an athlete attractive and motivating. Instructor provides a comprehensive approach and proven training methods, organization and training plan. The coach provides methodological and information support and allows him access to professional training. Instructor streamlines the communication process between the coach and his wards. It helps to build mutual trust and motivates athletes. The coach provides a space for his personal growth and motivates him to create their own specific exercises. Instructor specifically addresses the problem of how to effectively perform physical tasks as a hockey player at each level of motor learning. The essence of motor learning is the acquisition, improvement and stabilization. SLOVAK REPUBLIC 5
Live Delay Live Delay is a visual tool that provides immediate feedback, it tracks the movements of an athlete and accelerates the learning process. The athlete performs exercises on the hockey treadmill or in the gym and immediately after completion of an exercise he watch himself on the screen. Coach follows up immediately with their highlight commentary of pros and cons from just finished exercise. The technology is based on continuous video recording from IP cameras to the computer, while at the same time we are Picture 6 Live Delay watching the same video but with some delay. The delay can be set in any range from a few seconds to several minutes. Video is recorded onto the hard disk of your computer while playing back on the computer screen. The video can be played on the whole screen or you can connect it to big TV. The video from IP cameras continuously pass data on computer disk. Recording length is only limited by the size of your hard drive. Automated process of recording and playback does not impose any requirements on the coach and does not conduct training. Live Delay program features 1. Quick delay setup in range from 1 to 120 seconds 2. Quick switch between multiple cameras (front, side) 3. Delayed video output can be viewed on any external monitor 4. Stop and re-start the video 5. Automatic selection of image resolution based on the selected monitor 6. Easy to use interface SLOVAK REPUBLIC 6
PSN Improving peripheral vision for players the development of visual perception, which is applied with continuous skating, the implementation of several activities at once (multitasking) or any other skills. It promotes the development of responsiveness during implementation of gaming skills. An important part of the management assistance is practicing shooting with continuous skating. Picture 7 PSN system Peripheral vision is characteristic of our eyes. And it is our ability to detect objects in the periphery of our visual field. So it is the brain s ability to evaluate ideas at the edge of the retina. It is not given automatically, but the brain can be trained. Peripheral vision can thus be coached in many respects, because our brain function id similar to muscle. Their performance can be significantly improved if we train them properly. Peripheral vision is important ability in team sports such as hockey. The player using this feature sees where his opponent is without him directly pointing vision at a opponent. Even the average player can become the most productive player of the team. Just understanding some basic rules of shooting and implementing them in the match can make a big difference. Based on the incentives on monitor placed above him the athlete shoots a designated area in the net. Practice shooting at a skating simulator uses real size hockey net and tutor shooter with five holes. Shooting practice can be combined with a number of exercises to train shooting from different positions, different ways with different techniques. SPORT TESTING Stride Power & WinGate The world s unique technology for development player s speed abilities. According to the diagnostics, a speed with maximum player s power is determined which results in training preparation aimed to develop the player s skating power-speed abilities. SLOVAK REPUBLIC 7
Stride power is used for measuring skaters power it is combined best with wingate testing as it gives comprehensive results about fatigue index. This kind of testing provides world s unique technology for developing players speed skills. Collected data are very useful in training process for better feedback between coach and player. This is a Picture 8 Stride Power on HST group of specialized tests designed for hockey skating treadmill, which provides a complex view of power-speed capability in the hockey environment. Other than testing stride power can be used as exercise tool during the hockey practice on skating treadmill. You simply hook player to the stride power and let him train skating strength. It can be used with other products from fusion skating package as well. Stride Power can also be used during the training process as a motivation to players to try harder for better performance results. The most widespread and currently the most widely used anaerobic test is Wingate mainly thanks to the standardized protocol, high reliability, valid speed-power output and to the consistent assessment and uniform interpretation of the results. Most often transferred to the bicycle ergometer. This is a 30-second test to detect anaerobic capacity and power capabilities of the organism. The result is the determination of the maximum anaerobic power, anaerobic capacity index of fatigue and lactate concentration. Performance in this test is determined by the speed and resistance adjustment for the weight of a test subject. The optimum frequency is about 100 rpm. At this rotations frequency are tested individuals capable of producing maximum power. Evaluation parameters are the maximum and average power calculated from onesecond intervals. Maximum Picture 9 WinGate test on HST performance is achieved in the first five second of the interval. The average performance of the entire 30-second load again tells anaerobic capacity. By calculating the percentage drop in performance after the initial closing interval, you get fatigue index. SLOVAK REPUBLIC 8
Wingate test is nowadays increasingly used in ice hockey because it provides information that is most useful in training. Ice hockey is interval type of activity (short intensive load substituting rest), it means that it places specific demands on energy supply and muscles throughout the body. Energy supply options are different for each player. They are given by training as well as genetic predispositions and hereditary dispositions. What sources of energy are involved in meeting energy needs it depends mainly on the intensity and duration of loading. But also on the style of the game and the rest periods between each substitution. Based on testing we can objectively determine the strengths and weaknesses during physical training and at the same time assess the effectiveness of the training preparation. Testing may also indirectly stimulate the players to play an active and rational approach in training and preparation. Laser Laser is a simple training tool used primarily at practicing skating. It helps us especially during exercise aimed at eliminating errors in the stride phase. This device can also be used in the training game activities, which we also try to emphasize on good skating technique. We use the light beam in order for the player to put skates on a predetermined location given the coordinates of the Picture 10 Laser system body. By applying two lasers you can create the ideal distance in which the player has to impose the right and left skate next to each other and thereby achieves perfect track which width varies because of the skating technique (skating at a constant rate, long delay, acceleration, skating forward vs. backward skating, etc. ). Laser provides immediate feedback to the player and the coach, and thus help to improve the training process. Installation and use of the device is simple and does not require difficult training. SLOVAK REPUBLIC 9
Diagnostic Sport Testing Sport Testing is a comprehensive solution for testing and evaluation of coordinationconditioning abilities of a test subject. Sport Testing Solution is ideal for every kind of sport. Moreover, Sport Testing includes a set of tests specifically designed for ice hockey players. Sport testing system includes pre-made tests divided into three groups according to the environment in which the tests are carried out. The test can be in the gym areas (Dryland), hockey rink (On Ice) and skating treadmill (stride power). Sport Testing Solution is ideal for motivation, if it s used during the training. Each comparison motivates and provides immediate feedback. Therefore, we recommend using Sport Testing not only for testing and for evaluation, but as well as a normal part of daily training. SPORT TESTING DRYLAND Picture 11 Sport Testing Dryland This is a set of tests that are specific to dryland. Tests can be carried out in any room, fitness room, dressing room, hallway or playground. Note, however, that the test result is also influenced by surrounding factors such as the temperature of the environment, but also a pleasant atmosphere. It is therefore important to think about where and when to carry out the tests. Tests on dryland are main part of the sport testing solution. Tests can be effectively used also in bigger groups. Based on the results an effective training plan can be set to concentrate to improve the overall fitness level. Sport Testing is targeted to help with correct individualization of training process and receiving a feedback about training method suitability. Aim is to give coaches a uniform environment for the diagnostic with link to the evaluation of the actual player or team. Dryland is a diagnostic system for checking player s performance readiness (prerequisites)! It consists of expert compiled condition-coordination tests (frequency speed, explosive strength, reaction speed, static and dynamic stability, strength, agility...) SLOVAK REPUBLIC 10
SPORT TESTING - ONICE OnIce is intended for diagnostic OnIce. Compiled tests determine momentary player s performance readiness, however with application of a video system, it is possible to follow the way of execution itself. Using sets of wireless sensors called Timing gates; we can test the players on the ice, but Picture 12 Sport Testing OnIce also beyond. We test speed capability and agility. Sport Testing solution provides a set of standardized tests designed for hockey players on ice. Light gates can also be used on dryland, on the field or in the gym. Its variability allows coach to be creative and be able to use light gates on his own to create own tests TRAINING PLAN Making a competent and proper training plan is a necessary condition for the development of a rapid and substantial gaming performance of the athletes. The following products present possible ways of how to set up a training activity. Lux Trainer It consists of a wide range of exercises to which you can add your own ones. At the same time, it provides the possibility to make up training plans suitable for training cycles of various time duration.
