1 Essential Oils Mini Guide What are Essential Oils? Essential oils have a very small molecular size, which means that their healing properties are easily absorbed by the skin. The potency ensures that only a few drops are needed at a time, so a small bottle can last a few years when used sparingly. Essential oils, containing potent medicinal and cosmetic properties, are a versatile part of a natural medicine cabinet. They work to support the body s own healing system, and when used correctly, may be able to take the place of conventional over-the-counter remedies. Essential oils have been used for thousands of years for their health, cosmetic, and emotionally uplifting properties. Young Living has always been at the forefront of bringing this ancient tradition to modern users, introducing millions to a total mind/body wellness they may never have dreamed possible. Primarily extracted through careful steam distillation, but also through cold pressing, the purest essential oils are far more powerful and effective than dry herbs, delivering quick and effective results. Any time you hold a bottle of our powerful essential oils, you are holding the pure essence of health-promoting botanicals that can be diffused, inhaled, applied topically, incorporated into massage, or taken internally. The Benefits of Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils 1. Essential oils are so small in molecular size they can penetrate the tissues of the skin. 2. Essential oils are lipid soluble and are capable of penetrating cell walls -even those hardened because of oxygen deficiency. Essential oils can affect every cell of the body within 20 minutes and are metabolized like other nutrients. 3. Essential oils contain oxygen molecules which help transport nutrients to cells. Because nutritional deficiency is an oxygen deficiency, disease begins when cells lack oxygen for proper nutrient assimilation. By providing oxygen, essential oils work to stimulate the immune system. 4. Essential oils are powerful antioxidants that create an unfriendly environment for free radicals. They work as free-radical scavengers, prevent cell mutation, prevent fungus, and prevent cellular oxidation. 5. Essential oils have been shown to destroy bacteria and viruses while simultaneously restoring physiological balance to the body. 6. Essential oils may detoxify cells and blood in the body. 7. Essential oils containing sesquiterpenes have the ability to pass through the blood-brain barrier. 8. Essential oils are aromatic and when diffused may provide air purification by: a. Removing metallic particles and toxins from the air. b. Increasing atmospheric oxygen. c. Increasing ozone and negative ions in the air, which inhibit bacterial growth. d. Eliminating odors from mold, cigarettes, and animals. e. Filling the air with a fresh aromatic scent. 9. Essential oils promote physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. 10. Essential oils have a bioelectrical frequency that is several times greater than the frequency of herbs, food and even the human body. Clinical research has shown that essential oils can quickly raise the frequency of the human body, restoring it to its normal, healthy level. 11. Essential oils have an electrical frequency ranging from 52 MHz to 320 MHz. 12. All essential oils containing sesquiterpenes are known to give oxygen to cells in the body. diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. This is for educational purpose only. 2 The Benefits of Diffusing Essential Oils 1. Increased cell oxygen. 2. Increased secretions of endorphins. 3. Increased secretions of antibodies. 4. Increased production of ATP (energy fuel used by cells). 5. Increased secretions of serotonin. 6. Increased secretions of hormones. 7. Increased histamine release, which speeds up the healing process. 8. Increased circulation and supports immune function. 9. Increased conversion of amino acids and proteins. 10. Helps in dealing with emotional trauma. 11. Helps in promotion of secretion and receptivity of human growth hormone (HGH). 12. They smell wonderful. Diffusing has proven to be an extremely beneficial way to continually expose myself and my family to the oils. The diffuser runs in background mode, meaning I don t have to take time to apply the oils, I just turn the diffuser on and let her rip. In addition to the above listed benefits, diffused oils raise the vibration of one s environment while clearing it of airborne pathogens. I have three diffusers in my home, one on each floor. Although my wife and two children do not use oils topically or internally on as regular basis as I do, their health has improved dramatically since we began diffusing oils throughout the house every day. It is a specialized hand and foot massage that is very effective in delivering the essential oils throughout the body. Vita Flex means "vitality through the reflexes." Essential oils are applied to special contact points that are part of a network of several points that stimulate the internal body system. When the essential oils are applied to the contact points, energy is released through electrical impulses created by the reflex points and fingertips. This electrical charge follows the nerve pathways to a clog or a break in the electrical circuit most likely caused by damaged tissues, toxins or loss of oxygen. The body has hundreds of Vita Flex reflex points that are capable of releasing imbalances, tension and congestion. diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. This is for educational purpose only. 50 It is not quite the same as Reflexology which is based on steady stimulation. Vita Flex uses a rolling and releasing motion that involves placing all four fingers flat on the skin, rolling onto the fingertips, and continuing over onto the fingernail using medium pressure. Then moving forward about half the width of the finger. This rolling and releasing technique is continually repeated over until the point, or Vita Flex area, is covered. The movement is repeated over the area three times. Combine Vita Flex technique with 1-3 drops of essential oil applied to those areas of the feet that correspond to the system of the body you wish to support. When you combine essential oils with the Vita Flex stimulation you'll get rapid and extraordinary results. The combination enhances the effect of both. diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. 52 Some guidelines for safe use: * Always keep essential oils out of reach of children. * Essential oils rich in menthol, such as peppermint should not be used on the neck or throat area of children under the age of 30 months. * Never put the oils directly in the ears and keep them away from the eye area. Don't touch contact lenses or rub your eyes with essential oils on your fingers. Even tiny amounts, oils high in phenols such as cinnamon, thyme, clove, lemongrass, and bergamot may damage contacts and irritate the eyes. * Keep the lids tight and bottles away from the light and store in a cool place. diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
