Working with several FE colleges across the country as an initial pilot, two of whom will be co-presenting the session, the Partnership aims to identify, develop, disseminate and evaluate mental health training in colleges to meet specific needs, as identified by the colleges themselves. This will lead to a national resource base of free FE-specific mental health training resources to
5 help support colleges in their work around mental health, developed collaboratively and using an evidence-base. The value and importance of third-sector involvement in FE The development of bespoke training materials in FE in collaboration between a number of key stakeholders The experiences of two colleges in their early work with CWMT in mental health training development. 15:55 Adult learners and mental health Catina Barret, Community Learning Mental Health Research project There s a memorable statement in the Children and Young People s Mental Health Green Paper, Transforming children and young people s mental health provision about how far behind children and young people with mental health problems fall in their education. In this presentation we will present key lessons learned from the DfE Community Learning Mental Health research (2015/18). We will share highlights from our journey, including what some project leads and heads of service have described as the pain of research and social metrics and the pleasure of a project that enabled them to reconnect with the values of community learning and has given them a new narrative to evidence its impact.
