1 EAA Chapter 241 News Letter December 2011 A publication by, for and about members of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 241 December 2011 Meeting The next general meeting of EAA Chapter 241 will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, December 12th, at DeKalb Taylor Airport (DKB), IL. Directions are located later in the newsletter. This month s program will presented by Tom Burgan. Tom will introduce Dr. Gregory Ostrom, Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). 6:30 refreshments, 7:15 Meeting, 7:30 Progress of Restoration. Bring a friend! Ramblings from your Editor: The Holiday season is upon us and the decorating and cooking has begun. All the stockings are hung in the hope St. Nicolas will come!!! Ho, Ho, Ho for all you Grandpas out there. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!! to one and all.. Bravo!!! ************** EAA Chapter 241 election results are in: An instant election was held at the November business meeting and Ned Richer was nominated as our new President. Not only was Ned nominated but has graciously agreed to act as President of EAA Chapter 241. Rose Ellen May has graciously accepted nomination to continue as Secretary. Kevin Frank will continue in his role as Vice- President. 2 Treasurer s Report: The Chapter's bank account continues to grow. Dues are now being accepted for Reference the Dues/Membership Application later in this issue. Old Business: None Reported New Business: The Holiday Gala Event is scheduled for January 14 th, 2012 and will be held at Sorrento s Restaurant (RT64 east of Sycamore). RSVP to Wes Lundsberg lundsberg777@gmail.com Program: Dr. Ostrom - FAA Medical Examiner will speak about the recent changes in medical requirements, etc. Membership dues of $20 payable to EAA241 (submit to Tom Burgan) due by January 9; include your current EAA membership number on the check, please. Election during program meeting on Monday, December 12: o Two year term beginning January 1, 2012 for President. Meeting Program: The meeting program for the December meeting will be presented by Tom Burgan, who has invited Dr. Gregory Ostrom to join us. Dr. Ostrom, an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) with offices in Elgin, IL, will give a presentation on all things medically related, that may be of concern to our members. She will be at Rose Ellen s sisters house for a couple of weeks before she will come home.
