1 Meeting Agenda (7-7:30), Guest Speaker (7:30-), Wrap-up 1. Upcoming event: Young Eagles, Saturday 11/18 San Carlos Airport (Don) a. Please RSVP with your availability to support (Pilots, Dispatch or Ground crew) b. Sign-up status: (~13 kids) have signed through the website since (10/21 event). Expect the usual number of walk-ins or recurring young eagles we typically get. c. Working with another interested Volunteer Pilot, Mark (Owner KHAF) d. Looking to redeploy the flight simulator system as part of the YE event. Looking for a donated laptop/desktop and YE volunteer to help setup / lead. 2. Upcoming event : Annual EAA20 Christmas Party, Tuesday, December 19 th (Oliver, Curt) a. To be held at the Hiller Aviation Museum Main Hall b. Please RSVP with (Your, Family, Guest) attendance to this event c. Curt Nehring will need some help as he performs his kitchen magic in preparing our feast. We are also seeking volunteers to help with decorations, setup, and cleanup. i. Curt if you can help out cnehring@sbcglobal.net d. We may raffle off some of the aviation artifacts that Tim Foley left us such as his B29 poster. Stay tuned! 3. RV-12 Project update (Bill, Claude, Frank) a. Hangar A45S, wing build update, New (FI) fuselage kit arrived, flying club formation, build sessions (Sat 9am-Noon, and Mon 5:30-8:30pm), other 4. Aviation Scholarships update (Oliver, Jack) a. Committee meetings to discuss scholarships/funding TBA, target $1000 for Treasury Report update (Alan) a. To be updated and talked to, club membership dues? 6. Newsletter status (Jack) a. Oct-2017 issue distributed, soliciting inputs for Nov-2017, please pass along any material you d like to be incorporated into the upcoming issue. All input welcome!

Elections Per EAA Bylaws, the current slate was elected under the new rules and serve for two years, so there is no election this year. We do have a vacancy for VP. b. Website/Calendar - ( updated; back-filling with prior data please pass on suggestions for improvement, anyone interested in learning how to help maintain, contact Don. c. Now posting our events on EAA Website - d. Chapter Flyer created to high-light EAA/Our local chapter, please help distribute. e. Google Drive (To-Do) to store club info: photo s, newsletters, documents, etc., once created, I will a link so everyone can upload. f. Membership Directory (To-Do) include interested committees; Membership, Newsletter, Young Eagles, Scholarship, Website, Events/Social, Guest Speakers, Aircraft, 8. Guest Speaker (B.C. Thomas (SR-71 Pilot) a. Mr. Thomas has the most SR71 flight time of any pilot. He flew all 3 of the US reconnaissance aircraft. He brought a UAL 727 into Meigs Field s 4000 ft. runway, for donation to Chicago s Museum of Science & Industry 9. Other upcoming events a. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2018 Tickets On Sale! b. 5 Club Event 1: Young Eagles Activity: Provide air and ground support for the monthly Young Eagles flying event Saturday, Nov-18 th, 2017 San Carlos Airport, Terminal next to Sky Kitchen Event Time: 10AM 12 Noon Check-in Time Pilots: Pilots & Aircraft Check-in Time Volunteers: 0900 Help setup (folks who come earlier A-O-K) Sign-up status: It looks like about (10 kids) have signed up through the website since the (10/21 event). But that doesn t take into account the number of walk-ins or recurring young eagles we typically get. Pilots: We had (5-pilots) on Oct-21 st and airlifted 24 young eagles over two-hour event. Dispatchers: Registration, organize flights, log-book update, certificate printing Ground Crew: Both Senior and YE volunteers alike are needed to brief New YE s as well as escort to/from aircraft. Event Organizers: Please your availability to support the Young Eagles Event to the following individuals: Don (thermaldon@gmail.com), Diane (dandm@aftosmis.net) & Elizabeth paloaltoeditor@gmail.com Current Status as of 11/14/17: YE Sign-ups - Pilots Bob L. and Oliver C. still need more pilots to confirm and ground crew support.
