1 CWM TAF UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD EQUALITY OBJECTIVES Agenda Item 3.2 (Appendix 1) COMMUNICATIONS AND ENGAGEMENT PLAN October March 2016 Purpose All `listed public service organisations in Wales were required under the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duties in Wales, to develop and publish a Strategic Equality Plan (SEP) by 2 nd April 2012 which has to be revised by Stakeholders A wide range of stakeholders will need to be engaged across all age ranges and in both Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil. We will need to ensure that staff, service users and members of the community are given every opportunity to hear about and influence our objectives in a format they are comfortable with. We will also need to communicate and engage with Third Sector organisations, Independent sector providers and other groups such as the Cwm Taf UHB Public Fora, Cwm Taf Community Health Council, the Cwm Taf Stakeholder Reference Group and the Cwm Taf Citizens Panel and other established groups. Methods We will use a variety of means to engage and consult including focus groups and workshops, and providing information and online on partner websites, the Cwm Taf Consultation Hub, social media and the staff intranet site. A discussion document (script) and bilingual have been produced for use in the engagement stages. 1
