1 AL NATP CHAPTER Thank you all for another successful Seminar. We are happy that you all were able to come for the education as well as the networking opportunities made available. A few tidbits from the conference. Fall Charity the Baldwin County Sheriff Boys Ranch was this year s chosen charity. They are located in Summerdale, AL. Our members were able to collect multiple hygiene and cleaning products for the ranch. As well as $ Mr. Jim Harmon, the director of the ranch, stated that he could never express enough gratitude for what we had done for the boys... If you would like to learn more about the ranch please see the video of some of the things they do for these young men. 2 Chapter Person of the Year: Our Chapter Person of the year award goes to Ms. Elizabeth Johnson. SAVE THE DATES: Once again we will be offering a Study Session for the AFSP certification. This is a group study lead by instructors, with the goal of each attendee passing the exam online.completion of the Annual Federal Tax Refresher course (AFTR) is a necessary step in obtaining an Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) Record of Completion. This AFTR course covers federal tax law topics in three domains: New Tax Law/Recent Updates; General Review; and Practices, Procedures, and Professional Responsibility. The AFSP is a voluntary program, but since 2015, preparers need a Record of Completion for returns to engage in limited practice. To engage in limited practice, an unenrolled preparer must agree to adhere to the practice requirements of Circular 230. This AFTR course provides the information you need to review to pass the examination and obtain your Record of Completion. See the attached registration for more information. JANUARY 17 th, 2019 WEBINAR We are excited to announce that we are working with National on the Pilot Webinar. We will be holding a webinar with the Department of Revenue on January 17 th at 10:00 AM CST. More information and pricing to come. After much discussion, we have chosen January 17 th at 10:00 am CST for our webinar. We expect the webinar to run about 1 hour, with minutes for any Q&A. No CPE credits allowed for state topics.
