6 Believe it or not Scientists have discovered that stress can cause damage to our DNA. This damage can make us more susceptible to a variety of health conditions, including cancer. Managing Stress First, recognize it is a common human experience. Stress was necessary when humans were faced with life-threatening situations. Sometimes, we induce stress in ourselves (i.e. roller coasters) but it is short-lived and doesn t have the negative effects of long-term stress. Steve Harrington, Executive Director inaps 6
