Our August Second Friday will again featured the ever-popular Trivia session conducted by Karin Froio and Caroline Fusco. Don t forget to connect with Ruth Ann Clarke to get raffle tickets for a chance to be a big winner! The Group Valet system, hosted for SPVCA by Ron Cook, continues to be well utilized both for signing up and for canceling. Thank you. Please plan on attending SPVCA s Annual Meeting on September 14 at 5:30 PM, just before the Second Friday Social, so you can vote on the nominee slate of new and continuing Board members. A broadcast will follow the August 4 meeting of the current Board, with their recommendations. As always, nominations can be made at the Annual Meeting by attendees. Bob Bruno and Dennis Froio have graciously volunteered to jointly lead SPVCA s traditional participation in the 72 Mile A-1-A Garage Sale that will be held on Saturday, November 17. Members can take part in activities like donations of items to sell, helping price them, and handling the actual sales. Tables will be available for member use to sell their own items, for a modest fee. Please contact Bob if you d like to be part of the fun. Please take the opportunity to participate in the Recreation Committee s Games Days. During the summer, indoor games days include Euchre, Mexican Train Dominoes, Canasta, Pinochle, and Shanghai. They re held on each Monday at 1 PM, and the third Thursday of the month; please see the specific schedule inside. Sue Olsen continues to welcome your suggestions for other game activities. John Maury has kindly agreed to take on the lead role for SPVCA s involvement with the Adopt-A-Highway program that covers a 2-mile span of A-1-A. This involvement consists primarily of roadside cleanup quarterly, so John will need volunteers who like the outdoors. Please contact him if you are willing to participate. The Building Reserve Fund Drive to maintain the long-term sustainability of the SPVCA clubhouse is still ongoing. At present, the fund stands at $17,300 towards the $25,000 goal. To those who have already responded with donations, thank you. To those who intend to respond, please be generous and thank you in advance. Please remember that, as always, the Board and I seek member feedback regarding what's working well/what can be improved as we move through the year.
