Steve Majino called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Rick Poepping led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Steve welcomed any visitors and introduced the 2010 officers for the last time: President: himself - Steve Majino Vice President: Rick Mestre Administrative Assistant: Judy Turner Treas urer: Fred Gronemeier Sgt of Arms: Rick Poepping Membership: Mary Heeley / Jenifer Majino NCM Ambassador: Chuck Watson Newsletter Editor & Publisher: Chuck Watson - not present Webmaster: Wendy Latham Charity Committee Chairperson: Carol Johnstone Treasure s Report: Fred read the treasurer s report. A motion was taken to accept the Treasurer Report; motion was made by Paul Jost & Ann Dickmann and was accepted. Judy Turner We received a thank-you from Bess Wilfong, Founder/Exec Director of Angel Arms. They would like to thank us once again for all the items collected this year. The cereal, laundry soap, gift cards, paper product and much more will continue to help support the foster children in the Angel Arms homes in the St. Louis area. Judy also mentioned that in the Angel Arms Newsletter that they are presently getting ready to purchase another home. Anyone interested in donating to the down payment fund to please contact them. If they could get 200 families or groups to donate just $100 they could easily purchase the fifth home that will support area foster children. Membership report: Things were bit crazy at the Membership table this meeting. They were unable to update at this time. Don t forget they are still collecting your $ dues. NCM Report Chuck Watson was not present. No report but Steve wanted everyone to know the NCM is still in Bowling Green, KY! Sponsor Report Brian Leith was not present. Rick Mestre reported that they will sponsor our club again next year. Thank-you to everyone at Jim Butler! New Member: No new members this month Visitors: Mike Francis stopped in tonight with his Mom to say hi. He is moving to N. Carolina. Birthdays/Anniversaries/New Arrivals: 1. 3 OCC Meetings: Meetings are held on the 2nd Tue sday of every Month and are open to members and guests. ( net) Dinner Prior to Meeting: Please be sure to contact Joan sportscars@sbcglobal.com if you are going to participate in the dinner prior to our meetings. There is a sign up sheet in back of the meeting room if you want to sign up in advance. The menu for the next month s meal is located there also. Kathy Poepping a December B-day 11. Erv & Sharon are celebrating their wedding Anniversary this month. Charity Donations: 1. Kenny Loehr from PALS was present to accept a check for $1500. Mr. Loehr spoke briefly, thanking our club for our continued support. 2. Rita Swinner and Mike Diehl from SANTA S HELPERS was present to accept all the wonderful toys, gifts, bikes, etc donated by our OCC members. They also received a check for $ Rita invited us to come down again this year to help wrap presents. Carol Johnstone will be sending out an about a date, time, and location. Mr. Diehl also asked if anyone had time on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning to dress up as Santa to help distribute gifts. They are short handed this year and could really use some help. Mary Jane Robertson again made a beautiful Chocolate Corvette Display to be auctioned off. The theme this year was a Corvette Christmas in the Rockies! Steve led the auction, and Dick & Carol Mericle, Floyd & Carol Johnstone and David & Sandy Van Mill each contributed $120 to make an additional $ for Santa s Helpers! Thank-you to Mary Jane for all the hard work and time she devoted in making the display and especially to the couples to jointly purchased the display! Karen Mericle still has OCC mini pillows to be sold. All money will go to Santa s Helpers. She sold 7 more pillows tonight and the $70 cash was handed over to Rita Swinner. We took a 15 minute break to enjoy a Special 30 th Anniversary Cake and ice cream. Before the meeting started, Judi DeLonjay mentioned that perhaps everyone noticed that we had a Baby Shower for Steve, Jenifer and the Majino Baby before the meeting tonight. Judi was afraid that maybe Daddy s feeling might have been hurt because he wasn t involved in the Baby Shower.so they have a special gift just for Daddy. Steve opened up a Daddy Diaper Changing Belt, which included, rubber gloves, tongs, nose mask, hand sanitizer, and more! It was a big hit. Page 3

4 Wednesday Night Dinner: Every Wednesday evening at 6:30pm a group of OCC members get together for an evening out. We go to a different restaurant every week and are always open to suggestions for new places to go. It is a great way to meet and get to know other members of the Club. All OCC members are welcome. See the Schedule of Events for the dates and locations. For more information, contact Donna or Gary Yahoo! Groups: The club has a Yahoo! Groups account setup where members can share ideas and information about club activities and other Corvette related issues, store photos and other club related files, set up informal opinion polls about upcoming events, add events to the calendar, and more. This is meant to be a supplement to our club web site, not a replacement. The Yahoo! Group is one of the benefits of The Original Corvette Club of St. Louis and is restricted to current club membership only. If you are a new club member and would like to join this list, please submit your request and upon verification, one of the moderators will welcome you to the list. Contact Lynda Harris (Yahoo! Group moderator) at to setup a username and provide access to the group. Past Events: 2010 Thanksgiving Day Parade. Jim Ford reported that the weather could have been better but the TV coverage was the best it had ever been! Thankyou to all the members that brought out their corvettes on such a terrible day. Luckily we all got them home before it started to snow! New Business & Upcoming Calendar Events: Jim Ford/Sandy Van Mill are jointly sponsoring the 2011 St. Louis Auto Show Display. The sign up sheets are in the back for those of you who would like to help work the show or display your car. We would like to display each generation. Betty Easley has kindly offered Old Ugly as a part of this year s display. The event is January th, Contact Jim Ford if you have any questions. Christine Stoeppler reported on the 2011 Holiday Award Party will be held on Saturday, January 8 th, 2011 at Sunset Lakes. Time 6-10PM. If we plan on staying later, they will offer a cash bar. The food will be great and the dessert will include a chocolate fountain. There will be attendance prizes and a small auction. Cut off time to sign up is December 30 th, Vettes4Vets Talladega Event in Judy Turner reported. This event will be held on Memorial Day weekend in For more information check out: Plans are to depart early on Friday, May 27, drive straight thru and check in to the hotel. Since this is a first time event for us, we are planning on attending the event sponsored Friday night dinner (all-you-can-eat BBQ) with the NASCAR museum tour. Saturday, May 28. Will be track training and laps. We have a location planned for dinner Saturday night. Judy has posted the information sheet on the OCC website and there are flyers available in the back of the room. They will be limiting the cars to like last year. So be sure to register as soon as possible. Dawn & Mike Stilwell are co-sponsoring this event with us. We have 5-6 cars signed up at this time. The more the merrier! Final notes from the President: Let s give a BIG thank-you to the Sunset Staff for the wonderful service and meals this year. Steve also thanked the club for the opportunity to serve and he thanked the rest of the Board for their support as well. Steve had a wonderful idea.since no one will volunteer to be secretary who ever wins the 50/50 tonight will be the 2011 Secretary. 50/50 Winner of $114 was Stan Prater. Congratulations Stan! So??? Can you take notes? Betty Easley asked to speak to the club. She wanted to thank everyone for all the support. She was so pleased to see us all there at the funeral. With a teary voice One of God s greatest Blessing is Friends and her and Jim are so blessed to be friends with all the wonderful, caring members of the OCC.
