2 Introduction arlier this year, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center asked friends and supporters to answer a survey designed to help us understand how our community engages with us and how they want to help us continue our groundbreaking research to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and related diseases. More than 1,300 supporters responded, giving us exceptional insight into what you find most important: 31% of supporters who answered the survey have engaged with Fred Hutch within the past 6 months. 48% of supporters who responded to our survey have had an influential person who inspired their appreciation of Fred Hutch. 582 people said that they or a family member have been treated at a Fred Hutch partner facility. Throughout this report, we highlight areas of engagement among fellow friends and supporters, as well as where they stand on the importance of Fred Hutch s mission and vision, their likelihood of offering future support and much more. 3 Response and Demographic Information How people like you responded to our survey TOTAL RESPONSE RATES Surveys completed The survey was available online and sent out via direct mail. We heard back with many positive responses, comments and stories. Thank you. Who responded to our survey? DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION FROM RESPONDENTS Responses came from diverse populations of supporters and friends, staff and faculty, volunteers, those treated at a Fred Hutch partner facility, and their family members and friends who share a deep connection to our mission to cure cancer faster.
