2 Executive Reports Chair [ Jon G ] Informal and unwritten report stating that we will have nominations tonight after regular business. Co Chair [Leslie H] Hello ASC This month I continued my duty as the treasurer. I was able to make it to the post office, and pass that mail off to our Chair person today. I wanted to bring to your attention something that I recognized within my position. I started out this year as the co-chair. As the co-chair I took on responsibilities as needed, and attended a few different sub-committee meetings as I was so ambitious. However, as time went on, my attendance at the sub-committee meetings declined. I see the importance of the support and meeting attendance because knowledge and accountability is so necessary. With that being said, I am willing and able to attend the sub-committee meetings that fit into my schedule. I also believe in order to have the support necessary for each member of this ASC and the sub-committees that we need to have those meeting date given at the ASC meeting for all of us to be aware of. If they are already being stated, wonderful. If not, please keep this in mind for the future and get those placed into your reports for all of us to be aware of, and passed on the our web servant in order for him to place those important. With that being said, I would like to remind those of you who do events, fundraisers, or handle money of any kind, to remember to get that money to the Area Treasurer within 72 hours of the event. This is in our guidelines, and should be remembered. Lately, I have been getting money passed on to me weeks later, and I realize I play a part in that by not following up with those who have the funds. However, this is my friendly reminder. I would also like to state that this past year has given me a new found knowledge of all the positions here at our ASC. I feel that I have a new perspective, and gratitude for service commitments. Thank you for trusting me to serve with all of you. 4 H&I [Wade R ] No written report. Verbal report given by Jessica announcing open positions for Purgatory Womens panel leader and the positions of Youth DT and Falcon Ridge are tabled. Outreach [Jen J.] No written report. Verbal report given New Years Eve was great! PR [Jerry C ]. There are no changes to the meeting lists this month. The updated meeting list has been sent to the ASC web coordinator. January meeting lists will be sent to Richfield, Kanab, and Mesquite after this ASC. 550 January lists have been printed, and December meeting lists were distributed to the GSR s who attended the November ASC. December meeting lists were places in all locations in the community, and IP s were placed at the Free Clinic and the methadone clinic. Five announcements that expired were taken off the web site, SUACNA paypal button was set to reflect the new amount to register for the convention, and updated positions filled for SUACNA were updated as well as the new logo. SUACNA guidelines online were updated and the new minutes. The current meeting at Dixie State University is no longer in existence, but literature is still being supplied in the Wellness Center. There will be a new Wellness Center Building in the future, so it s possible that meetings could be held there. The future will reveal more. We now have a contact with the Utah Army National Guard. IP s and meeting lists are currently being displayed. Our current meeting list well be ed to all assistant coordnators state wide that have guardsmen that live in the ST. George area as well as Cedar City. A flyer is being made for our National Guard contact so she can this flyer to all guardsmen that may have a family member in need of Narcotics Anonymous. The phone received nine calls during the last 33 days and the phone bill for the month is $ Lastly, I attended the regional PR meeting this month. I asked the committee about the $ cash donation for our area s PR budget. They said that the $ donation was given to us in the form of literature not cash. The ASC of Southern Utah did receive that amount in literature, but I was under the impression we would receive an additional $ in cash for the budget. In my opinion, I feel that our PR committee should let this matter go. I did bring this up in our business meeting and the committee agrees with this. Region 51 now has a text message system for all regional events, meeting time changes, new meetings time with location, and meeting closings. Any member can attain this system by texting the message Reg51 to In addition, SUACNA, Area Entertainment, Outreach, and H&I or any other sub committee can a flyer of their event to calendar@reg51na.org and their flyer will be put on the regional calendar and be put into the text message system. 12 End Group Reports Break Open Forum Open forum is verbatim, there is a voice recording available to anyone who would like to listen. Mikey I want to Stress that in the guidelines article 12 section 5. Every subcommittee is required to submit a report. We have a lot of positions that are not including a report. The chair has not had a report in several months. I feel its very important that we have a chair report. All subcommittees reports need to have up coming business meetings. Its important that members have access to those dates. Mikey I am putting in a motion that we hold area and area nominations and elections in St. George. The intent was to increase the pool of attendance. I was doing the math and I think if we did it every fourth month. Baron I thought we were going to rotate our area meetings to all other outlying communities. Leslie If we just shifted the cedar rotation just one month then nominations and elections would not fall on cedar months. It was brought up to have area in Kanab however we do not have a meeting place. If we had a place reserved we would go there. We can rotate but we need to let the KKCB know that we are moving area dates. Jessica The circle of hope has questions. Can home groups have a bank account. They would like some input and wisdom. What would be the purpose? Keeping accurate records. Sometimes treasurers fill in and there are inaccuracies. Are you using a treasurer's book? Yes. What is your prudent reserve? We can have up to in the bag at once. If you can pay rent in advance and send the rest of the money up the chain. Bank accounts are very complicated. Tax ids and non profit status. --- Circle of hope will be holding a group inventory and will post it online for anyone to attend.
