Stockton User Representative Group for Empowerment represents the views of those with experience of mental health issues. They work to make a positive impact on how mental health services are delivered. Rutland Healing Group is a small voluntary group who run campaigning activities in the area. They campaign to support people who have had problems with mental health. Survivors of Depression in Transition is a centre supporting women with mild to moderate mental health issues. They aim to provide a better understanding of mental health issues to the public and have produced a document that is used for lobbying the government and NHS on mental health services. Advance Brighter Futures Wrexham is a drop in centre that provides information, support and activities to those affected by mental health problems. Keeping the users involved in its activities gives them a stronger voice in mental health services. Augment is a user led mental health support group in Angus, Scotland. It works to reduce the stigma associated with mental ill health. They bring users together, and support them to make their views known about services and improve their confidence and self esteem. Reunion Volunteer Group campaigns to reduce stigma and discrimination in mental health services. They campaign on issues around stigma and help to improve services for people with mental health problems.

It offers a peer mentoring and counselling service, practical help, and a monthly newsletter for service users. This helps support people who have experienced mental health problems. Harmless provide support, information and training about self harm to young people, carers and professionals. They work to reduce isolation, and reduce the stigma and discrimination faced by those who experience mental health problems by promoting awareness and education amongst professionals and service providers. Rushcliffe Support Group provide training and support services for people using mental health services across Nottinghamshire. They run training courses to help to educate people with experience of mental health problems and to give them a say in the treatment they receive when they need services. People with mental health difficulties can and do recover with the right support, but the stigma surrounding mental illness can make this process harder. Lifecraft work to ensure that people with mental health issues are supported and trained to get involved in consultation and campaigning work to reduce stigma and improve services. By publicising their work, it also aims to challenge the stigma many people with mental health problems face daily. They work with local employers to help create a greater understanding of mental health amongst employers and reduce stigma around employing people with mental health problems. Enfield Users Group work to represent user views on mental health issues. They support older people in getting their voices heard on issues that affect them, leading to a better quality of life and care.

York and District Mind works with inpatients to ensure they get the advice and support they need to inform the major decisions that affect their lives, such as hospital treatment and being able to go back home. They do this by delivering presentations and workshops to local schools and colleges, and training sessions with South Yorkshire Police amongst other agencies. Saheliya work to encourage BME women in Scotland to speak up about mental health issues with the aim of bringing about services that better understand their needs. HUG aims to increase awareness and understanding of mental health issues across the Scottish Highlands, to improve the services and treatments available, and to challenge stigma. Amount: Duration: 3 years Rag Tag N Textile Collective is run by people with mental health issues to create employment and training opportunities for people experiencing similar issues. Selling recycled textiles is not only good for the environment; it also supports the local economy and community. Amount: Duration: 3 years People with severe mental illness who come into contact with the criminal justice system are one of the most marginalised and stigmatised groups in society and seldom receive the care and treatment that they need. Hafal s awareness raising campaign aims to bring about more effective care and treatment services and ultimately to prevent this group from offending, re-offending and committing suicide. Mental Health Matters Wales supports people with mental health issues to ensure they have input into the major decisions affecting their lives. The Mind Diggers Project within Cardiff Mind gives people with mental health issues the opportunity to do voluntary work in gardens and to gain formal NVQ qualifications to build their confidence and skills. Many of these people end up feeling isolated because of the unbearable stigma of their condition.
