2 Leslie Alvarado is a LGBTQ Program Lead/Sr. Medical/Clinical Social Worker with HCR Home Care. Leslie's areas of interest include: the LGBTQ Community, Aging, Organizational Development and Planning, Youth and Healthcare. Her areas of expertise are: Healthcare, Social Work, Education, Counseling and Program Development. Leslie participated in the LLDP to help strengthen her leadership skills, become more involved within the Latino community while continuing to grow as a professional and individual. Leslie is looking to explore volunteer opportunities in the community that feed her passion of providing quality services/care to underrepresented populations. Leslie hopes to create change through involvement on boards or committees that focus on Healthcare, Youth, Aging and LGBTQ services. Mariany participated in the LLDP to become a leader in the Latino community and be able to connect with Latino Leaders that are currently making an impact within the community. She would also like to participate on a board or committee in order to have a voice in the decisions made in the community. She plans to participate with health initiatives targeting the Latino community. 3 Anthony Camilo is a Commanding Officer with the Rochester Police Department. His areas of interest are: Homelessness/Housing, Community Development & Planning, Crime & Anti-Social Behavior, Job Training and Education. His areas of expertise are: Community Relations, Public Relations and Government. Anthony participated in the LLDP to enhance his personal and professional growth as a leader. He also hoped to learn more about the community and how to serve it. Anthony plans to take steps to become a part of various committees and boards. He would also like to volunteer at charitable events. Her area of interest and expertise is Health. Gabriela participated in the LLDP to grow as a leader within the Latino community and to help break the barriers that prevent individuals from having a successful life. 4 Alex Cruz is a Teacher at ABC Headstart. His areas of interest are: Youth with Developmental Delays and Education. Alex s areas of expertise is Education especially Early Childhood Education Alex participated in the LLDP to strengthen his skills as a professional, learn about volunteer opportunities in the community, therefore; increasing my participation in community activities and making an impact in the lives of youth. Alex plans to advocate for youth, become a mentor and engage in meaningful activities that enrich their lives. 5 Dalia Falú is a Registered Nurse employed by the University of Rochester. Her areas of interest are: Community Development/Planning, Women s Issues, Education and Health. Her areas of expertise are: Healthcare, Training, Social Work and Counseling. Dalia participated in the LLDP to grow professionally by connecting to the power that already exists within our community and identify the most effective way to support the needs of the Rochester community As Co-Class Representative of the Class of 2017, she plans to support future LLDP classes and the many people that made attending the classes such an amazing experience for her. She also plans to support women in our community through education about the health of their families. Her areas of expertise are: Administration, Consulting, Education, Program Development and Advocacy. Jeiri participated in the LLDP to build a stronger connection with the Latino community in the Greater Rochester area. Jeiri plans to seek out volunteer positions in the community. 6 Christiney Fraguada is a Youth Advocate, II with Hillside Work Scholarship Connection. Her areas of interest are: Homelessness/Housing, Community Development/Planning, Youth and Education. Christiney s area of expertise is Education. Christiney participated in the LLDP to obtain skills that will enhance her ability to be a stronger link between the community and available services. She would like to serve the Rochester community through joining boards, volunteerism, as well as, attending events centralized in the nurturing of the community. Agustin participated in the LLDP to connect with organizations that will allow him to effectively and professionally advocate for the betterment of the Latino community. 7 Elisa Heckathorn is Director of Operations for All-American Home Care. Elisa s areas of interest are: Re-entry of individuals to Society from Prison, Crime and Anti-Social Behavior and Health. Her areas of expertise are: Administration, Community Relations, Program Development, Healthcare, Medicaid, Managed Care Systems and Nursing Home Transitions. Elisa participated in the LLDP for Education, Development, Growth, Networking and the ability to give back to the community. Elisa plans to give back, invest in the community and help others to transition from prison back into the community. Javier would like to restart the Latino Resource Group at his workplace and seek ways to benefit the community through it. 9 Johnnathan Martinez is a Clerk with the Monroe County Board of Elections. Johnnathan s areas of interest are: Community Development and Planning, Education, Civic Engagement and Political Science. His areas of expertise are: Community Relations, Fundraising, Government and Program Development. Johnnathan participated in the LLDP to garner the traits necessary to serve in a public capacity. Johnnathan plans to serve on a board as a liaison for the Latino community. He wants be a voice for the Latino community in interactions with elected officials. Zuleima participated in the LLDP to learn how to participate on a board or committee. She also wants to connect with the Latino community and get out of her comfort zone. 10 Maricela Marquez is a Community Health Worker at Rochester Regional Health. Maricela s areas of interest are Fundraising, Immigration, Youth and Legal Assistance. Her areas of expertise are: Fundraising, Sales, Social Work and Health. Maricela participated in the LLDP because she has an urgent need to help the community, grow professionally and personally. Glory participated in the in the LLDP to learn more about our community s needs and to gain valuable skills to help her advance professionally. 11 Rachel Post is a Relationship Manger at the United Way of Greater Rochester. Rachel s areas of interest are: Community Development, Refugee Resettlement, illiteracy and Women s Issues. Her areas of expertise are: Administration, Fundraising and Marketing. Rachel participated in the LLDP to meet members of her new community and find ways to become involved with Rochester Non-for-Profits. She also hoped to strengthen her leadership skills. Casara participated in the LLDP to obtain additional leadership skills to advance her career, as well as, be a better leader in the community and give back in more than one way. Ruth s areas of interest are Aging, Community Development & Planning, Job Training, Art, Youth Illiteracy, Mental Health Counseling, Women s Issues and Education. Ruth s areas of expertise are Community Relations, Sales, Fundraising, Social Work, Counseling, Training, Program Development and Marketing. Ruth participated in the LLDP to grow personally, acquire skills as an emerging leader and make connections with others who are like-minded. She plans to continue to educate herself about the needs of the community and apply the skills that she has learned to benefit causes that she is passionate about. Anibal participated in the LLDP to enhance his leadership skills and make a positive impact in the community. She plans to serve the Rochester Area by utilizing networking, partnership and volunteer opportunities.
