10 TIPS ON SPEAKING WITH COLLEAGUES Never apologize for asking them to participate $5 per paycheck will provide career counseling, skills training and a job placement for local youth Provide clear examples of how their dollars help, ideally in bi-weekly gift increments (should be provided by participating agencies) Ask for support from department/unit leadership (encouraged by Chancellor)

14 FAQs For a 1-timegift, who does the donor write the check to? Just write it to one of the 12 umbrella agencies. How often do I submit forms I collect? Once a week, send to Joan Lund, MC360 or drop it off at 338 Henry Admin bldg. What about employees who leave, start or retire? ccfd@illinois.edu their full name, UIN and , and we'll update the database. Can someone give to a nonprofit not listed in CCFD? Yes if the non-profit is a 501c3 and the donation is made during the campaign.

18 WHY PEOPLE GIVE I felt emotionally moved by someone s story I want to feel like I m changing someone s life I feel a sense of closeness to a community or group I want to memorialize someone (who is struggling or died of a disease) I was raised to give to charity it s tradition in my family I feel fortunate and want to give something back to others I want to have a good image for myself and my department
