2 YOUR MAILING LABEL always indicates the last time you have paid your Homemaker dues. Check it out! (Unless it was paid after Nov. 1ST last year.) Send in your renewal or visit us to pay for your Membership Year now. Deadline 11/1/18. World Mental Health Day is October 10, 2018 World Mental Health Day is October 10, The goal is to raise mental health awareness around the world. One in four adults and one in ten children will have a mental health issue in a given year. These issues can affect millions of lives. They can affect relationships and jobs. The stigma attached to mental health problems can make it difficult for people to get help. The best way to deal with stigma is by sharing facts and learning more about mental health issues. World Mental Health Day provides a way for people to talk about what can help people receive adequate mental health care. It was first celebrated in The theme for 2018 is Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World. It will be a day to bring attention to the issues that youth and young adults are facing today. Some of these issues include school violence, internet exposure, bullying, trauma and substance abuse. Young adults have often learned little-to-nothing about mental health care. The World Health Organization will bring attention to the issues youth and young adults are facing today. They will help us all talk about what youth need to grow up happy and healthy. We can all focus on the needs of young people on October 10 and beyond. Use the hashtag #worldmentalhealthday to post about programs or events you might be working with in your community. You can also use this hashtag to search for more information about World Mental Health Day Enrollment Form for Fleming Co. 3 PUMPKIN SQUARES Makes 24 servings Serving size: 1 bar (3 x2 ) 1(16 oz.) no-salt added, canned pumpkin 4 eggs 3/4 cup Splenda brown sugar 3/4 cup canola oil 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour 1 1/2 cups rolled oats, regular type 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9 by 13 inch baking pan coating with cooking spray. In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin, brown sugar, eggs, and oil. Mix well. In a second bowl, combine flour, oats, and cinnamon. Create a well or hole in the center of the flour mixture. Pour the pumpkin mixture into the well in the center of the flour mixture. Stir until all the dry ingredients are moist. Pour batter into the 9 by 13 pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until done. Nutrition facts per serving: 190 calories; 15g total fat; 1.5g saturated fat; 30 mg cholesterol; 105mg sodium; 40g carbohydrate; 1g fiber; 29g sugar; 3g protein HARVESTING PUMPKINS Pumpkins can be harvested whenever they are a deep, solid color (orange for most varieties) and the rind is hard. How hard should the rind be? You should not be able to pierce it (gently) with your finger nail. Cut pumpkins from the vine carefully, using pruning shears or a sharp knife and leave 3 to 4 inches of stem attached. Snapping the stems from the vines results in many broken or missing "handles." Pumpkins without stems usually do not keep well. 4th Annual Party for the Pumpkins Fall Family Festival October 13 [Saturday] UK Arboretum Time 2 to 6 pm Ages All ages Cost $7, plus 6% sales tax ($7.42 per person)* $5, plus 6% sales tax for Kentucky Children's Garden 2018 Season Members ($5.30 per person)* *children under 2 years FREE.
