St. Teresa HSA Newsletter Thursday October 5, 2017 Cardinal Dolan Visit Join us as Cardinal Dolan celebrates 10am mass Sunday October 15, pm 4pm Mother Daughter Brunch Hilton Garden Inn RSVPs were due Sept 29th! If you are planning on attending and did not RSVP please let us know ASAP Thursday October 19, 2017 HSA Meeting and Wine Tasting 7pm Join us for our October HSA Meeting where we will be hosting a Wine Tasting with ONE HOPE Winery! Monday October 31, 2017 St. Teresa s Trunk or Treat Dress up yourselves and your car for some Ghoulish fun! Prize will be awarded for best decorated car! Contact us at stteresahsa@gmail.com to enter HOLY NAME SOCIETY NEWS Sunday October 29th The Holy Name men will be serving up their popular annual SPAGHETTI DINNER! Time: 1pm to 6, in the Lower Church Hall. Complete meal just $10 for adults. Children are $8, and you can even take a dinner home for just $1 extra! While you dine, you can enjoy watching football on our big screen. There will also have raffles and gift baskets, with a grand prize! Come and enjoy.

4 Page 4 SHOW YOUR SCHOOL SPIRIT! St. Teresa HSA Newsletter T-Shirt Order Forms being ed out this week! Any student who purchases a T-Shirt or Zip up Hoodie can wear it to school on Mondays with gym pants, in place of the regular school uniform and whenever the gym uniform is worn. Also Hoodies (even if you bought them last year) can be worn in the classroom all year round over the uniform if it gets chilly! TSHIRTS: $15 ZIP UP HOODIES: $25 Send completed order form and payment by October 20, 2017 to St. Teresa Home School Association, c/o St. Teresa School. Please make checks payable to St. Teresa HSA.

5 St. Teresa HSA Newsletter STRIVE FOR 5 PROGRAM Page 5 The STRIVE FOR 5 program is a promise. A promise not only from you to the STS, but a promise to your child and our school! We are asking that each family promise to volunteer a minimum of at least 5 hours of their time during the school year. If for whatever reason you cannot provide 5 hours of volunteer time to the HSA, a one time $75.00 fee will be withdrawn from your May Tuition bill. There are so many ways to reach your 5 hours of volunteerism! Here are just a few ways to STRIVE FOR 5!! Come to an HSA Meeting! For each meeting you attend you earn a 30 minute credit by attending 4 meetings that s 2 hours right there! Volunteer at one of out MANY events you can volunteer for only an hour at 5 events or at one event for 5 hours so many options! Mother Daughter Brunch Oct pm help check in people & sell raffles The Christmas Fair December 8, 9 & 10 help set up/break down the gym, Sell raffles, help sell items, run the games for the kids Grandparents/Special Person day February 2 nd help serve food and direct people Father Daughter Dance February 11 th help check people in and sell raffles Mother Son Event dates TBD - help check in people & sell raffles Basket Auction sell raffles and help hand out prizes! Plant Sale May 11th help sell plants to the kids as they shop Father Son Laser Tag May 24 th help check people in & sell raffles Field Day spend the Day with your kids helping run the color war games Fun idea: If you just have sons/daughters volunteer at a Mother or Son event and earn hours while you enjoy watching your spouse and child/children have fun! And if you work crazy hours and absolutely no way you can make time for an event here are ways to earn your hours without leaving your house you can even do with your kids! Stuff Straws for straw game ( us and we will send in supplies) 1 box = 2 hours Wrap prizes for Christmas Fair & Basket Auction ( us to coordinate to meet us to pick up prizes /supplies, wrap and drop back off to HSA) - 10 prizes = 1 hour Solicit Donations for prizes and deliver to HSA (just us for a list of the donations we already have so we don t ask the same place twice!) - 5 donations = 2 hours Make something to be sold at Made from the Heart Table & deliver to HSA (Ornaments, crafts, etc) 5 items 1 hour Volunteer for 5 hours of lunch duty not only will that fulfill your 5 hours you also get paid! Class parents chosen at last night s meeting automatically fulfill their 5 hour commitment! We all are busy, we all want to spend time with our families and we all have to work together to keep our tuition down We are in it together to STRIVE FOR 5!

9 St. Teresa HSA Newsletter Page 9 CHRISTMAS IN STORES ALREADY SO WHY NOT THE STS NEWSLETTER!! CHRISTMAS FAIR 2017 IS ALMOST HERE! Mark your calendars! Friday, December 8th th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. & Sunday, December 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Its never too early to start to help Plus you earn STRIVE FOR 5 time! A lot of preparation is needed to make the fair a success-help us help STS! * Donations Donations Donations! Friends with someone who manages a store, owns a restaurant or runs their own business? Know a local merchant by name at a store you are a loyal customer at? Do you make handmade items or maybe your family would want to just sponsor a basket to be raffled off? We are looking for merchandise, food, gift certificates and monetary donations please reach out to anyone who may be able to help! Donation letters can be found at Building Games for the Fair If you are handy we need your help! We are looking for anyone who might be able to help us make additional Carnival type games for the kids to play at the fair. Please us if you might be able to help and we can show you some ideas of what we are trying to do! Help Make Made from the Heart Items Love Pinterest? Like doing Arts and Crafts, knitting or crocheting? Know someone who does? We are looking for donations to sell at the fair to sell at the Made from the Heart table! Interested in getting together to work on crafts us at stteresahsa@gmail.com with your availabilities so we can coordinate a night out!
