5 We are really pleased and excited to announce that we have been selected as potential Strategic Partners for DGS and Swale, Ashford and Canterbury, and South Kent Coastal/Thanet. This is great news for us as Mental Health is our core business it s what we do. So who are we? We re Maidstone and Mid Kent Mind and we are passionate about supporting people with mental health issues. We believe in recognising people as unique individuals and not as a diagnosis or a label. We aim to equip people with the tools they need to work towards positive well-being and self-fulfilment. We work to stamp out stigma and discrimination. We work across Kent delivering a diverse range of mental health products, such as Community Mental Health Service, IAPT, Work and Wellbeing Programmes, Troubled Families initiatives, and Crisis Cafes, to name just a few. So what do we do? We manage and deliver Mental Health and Wellbeing initiatives only, and so we get it! We know what it is like for you, we know the struggles, we understand the issues, and we are aware of the concerns everyone has about this new, but we think exciting, tendering opportunity. So how do we operate? We have completely transformed our organisation in just under two years and we pride ourselves on our partnership working, team building, openness, transparency and honesty. We are approachable, friendly and always willing to muck in and help any organisation we can. Our work ethos has helped us get to where we are today. We would love to meet you, we are keen to discuss collaboration and how to achieve excellence in Mental Health delivery, and how we can all serve the people of Kent in the best way possible. 6 The Kent & Medway Civilian Military Partnership Board are today launching the Kent Armed Forces Survey looking at the strengthens and needs of the Armed Forces and ex-services community. This research will help shape the delivery of outcomes for the Armed Forces community of Kent & Medway, and the results from this survey will form a suggested list of priorities to help decision making for the future in Kent & Medway. We are interested in hearing from any serving personnel, reservists, ex-service personnel and their families and wish to find out about their experiences living and working in Kent and Medway. We need better information about the experiences and issues faced and will be asking them about their time in the military and/or after in civilian life. We would like to hear from all Armed Forces and ex-service personnel and their families, so that the findings can provide a complete picture across Kent and Medway, and we would be very grateful if you could help circulate the link and / or if you or your colleagues meet the criteria please do take part. I have attached a flyer and poster should be able to promote the survey further. The survey should take less than 20 minutes to complete, and all responses are anonymous. 9 Minibus Driver wanted on Sheppey For Sheppey Matters The following requirements apply: Full UK current driving license Have been driving for more than 2 years Over 21 years of age and under 70 years It will be for an hour each day collecting children for breakfast club for an island school. There will be an escort on board with the children. This will be paid work. Term time only. I also have work for this driver on occasions taking parents and children to Orchards in Sittingbourne for appointments. The bookings are becoming much more frequent averaging one a week at the moment. This work will increase as the service gets more recognition by those who need it. 15 Public Sector Dear all, I m getting in contact to ask for your help with a small pilot project which is being undertaken between a range of local partners in Swale called the 'Total Resource' pilot. This project has been established to help improve our shared understanding of the current resource spent across public and VCS agencies in Swale on two shared targets for public outcomes - 1: keeping vulnerable older people safe in their own homes and 2: reducing obesity in children, young people and adults. The ambition is that by understanding the total picture of resource being focused on these outcomes across the public sector and VCS, we will all be able to identify options that may benefit our future commissioning choices to achieve these outcomes. We hope by proving the concept in this pilot, we can then roll out a wider methodology across the county. Local partners are all committed to this pilot and there is a real opportunity to gain valuable knowledge by successfully drawing this information together for everyone. We would really appreciate your help to complete a short template capturing activity against two public outcomes. We have designed an initial template to collate the information we need which is attached. We appreciate this has the potential to become a big piece of work so we have tried to keep the request as simple as possible and focus on capturing the overall level of activity and resource committed rather than getting caught up in technical detail. We hope by this approach we can as much value as possible whilst avoiding unnecessary demands on your time. As we don t yet know the full range of projects which may be taking place, we would be really grateful if you could share these on with any other local contacts who you are aware of working towards these outcomes so we can capture as much activity /resource as possible. Deadlines are quite tight and we need to pull together initial submissions by 26th June at the very latest to allow time to cross refer, analyse and refine the results. 19 Funding Women and Girls Initiative Launched for England The Big Lottery Fund is aware that, for a variety of reasons, the women's sector has been disproportionately affected by recent cuts in public sector spending. However, the issues that the women's sector deals with, including domestic and sexual violence and abuse, sexual exploitation, forced marriage and female genital mutilation, are still prominent and pressing. In response, the Big Lottery Fund has created the 48.5 million Women and Girls Initiative so that women and girls organisations can continue to develop and deliver crucial services for women and girls throughout England. The total budget for the grants programme is 45 million. A further 3.5 million has been set aside for support, development and evaluation. Grants of between 150,000 and 750,000 are available over a three to five year period. (It is expected that about 65 grants will be made in this range.) Another two or three large scale strategic investments of more than 750,000 may be made for projects that are of exceptional strategic value and have a clear focus on prevention and longer-lasting change. The funding is only for not-for-profit women and girls organisations in England. This includes: Voluntary and community unincorporated charitable associations. Registered charities. Community benefit societies registered as industrial and provident societies. Community interest companies. Social enterprises, providing surpluses are reinvested for social benefit. In addition, applicants must: Have, as their primary purpose, a mission to support women and girls. Have an evidenced track-record in delivering services for women and girls as the primary/main beneficiaries. To be eligible, projects must meet all four of the following funding outcomes: Increased provision of holistic, integrated, person-centred approaches for women and girls at risk. Increased involvement of women and girls in the design and delivery of the services they use. A greater number of women and girls supported through the provision of improved specialist support. Better quality of evidence for what works in empowering women and girls. Funding is intended to support revenue costs, however some overheads and capital costs will be considered. Applicants interested in applying must contact the Big Advice Line on to express their interest. The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 16 July 2015 (5pm).

To provide support to five volunteer student counsellors whilst on their placement. Building relationships with local training providers, raising awareness of placement opportunities to ensure a steady flow of student counsellors on placement. Developing the SATEDA counselling service policies and procedures alongside the Service Director. Designing and rolling out an evaluation process to satisfy funding requirements, alongside the Service Director.
