For people using this type of system, it s recommended to change their appliance everyday. B. Braun offers: The Flexima range is simple to use as no any special training is required. 15 2-PIECE SYSTEMS With the two-piece system the base plate is kept on the skin for a few days, whilst the pouch is changed when needed. This system can be quite useful for people with sensitive skin. 2 PIECE SYSTEMS Within the Flexima range 2 piece system, B. Braun offers two types of coupling system appliances: the adhesive Flexima Key and the mechanical Flexima 3S range. However, the lack of control over stool discharge and gas emissions, as well as the associated aesthetic and psychological factors, continue to represent a great burden for many patients. The method of flushing the intestine, also called irrigation, is recommended for colostomates in order to facilitate control over stool discharge.
