2 Invitation message Dear Colleague, I would like to invite you to the International Consensus Conference on Chronic Pain in Inguinal Hernia Surgery. The agenda offers a long list of International expert Faculty speaking on the main aspects of inguinal hernia repair of interest to the practicing surgeon, ensuring a real update of our state of knowledge. Faculty presentations will be organized into Evidence Medicine Reviews, Round Tables, Keynote Lectures, and Panels on selected topics. The scientific program will deal with two main session. The first session will be devoted to the consensus conference, where all participants will have the opportunity to contribute to design, together with the faculty, the guidelines to prevent and treat chronic invalidating pain. The second session will be devoted to analyse some particular aspects related to the hernia surgery, as infertility, mesh infection, indication to laparoscopy, use of absorbable mesh, economic and legal aspects of day surgery, etc even through live surgery demonstrations.
