2 and International Meeting Updates in Spinal Surgery MALUNIONS NON-UNIONS in the SPINE Treatment and Prevention VIZIATE CONSOLIDAZIONI e PSEUDARTROSI NEL RACHIDE Trattamento e Prevenzione Bologna, Italy March 09-10, 2007 The treatment of malunions and nonunions of the spine is of outstanding importance due to the increasing frequency and severity of spine injuries, the patients functional requests, the availability of surgical treatment also in small hospitals, with the understandable clinical impact of the learning curve. The program of this meeting includes keynote speakers and case discussions, in order to share experiences and provide useful information for neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons. L aumento dei traumi vertebrali e della loro gravità, le crescenti richieste funzionali dei pazienti, ma anche la diffusione della chirurgia vertebrale in centri periferici con il relativo impatto della curva di apprendimento, sono tutti elementi che rendono sempre più rilevante il tema dei postumi invalidanti delle fratture vertebrali. In questa riunione sentiremo il parere di alcuni esperti e discuteremo sulla scorta di casi clinici, cercando di trarre spunti utili alla pratica quotidiana di neurochirurghi e ortopedici. 5 MEETING VENUE Oratorio San Filippo Neri Via Manzoni, Bologna, Italy - Phone Historical building situated in the heart of Bologna s historic centre, on the side of Hotel Baglioni, just a short walking distance from Piazza Maggiore. HOW TO REACH BOLOGNA By air: Guglielmo Marconi Bologna International Airport is 8 km (5 miles) from the city centre and the Meeting venue is well connected by taxi and shuttle Aerobus BLQ leaving every 30 min. between 6,30 and 23,30. By train: The Central Railway Station is 900 metres (just over half a mile) from the Meeting venue and is well served by taxis and public transport. By car: Leave the A14 highway and take the outer ring road (TANGENZIALE) until you reach exit 7 (FIERA). Proceed towards the city centre in the railway station (STAZIONE CENTRALE) direction, then at the first traffic light turn left into Via Amendola, go on until Piazza dei Martiri and into the roundabout and then turn into Via dei Mille. At the 2nd traffic light turn right into Via Indipendenza. Straight ahead to Via Indipendenza. Before arriving to Hotel Baglioni turn right into Via Manzoni. REGISTRATION The participation in the Meeting is by invitation of Depuy Spine Company. The Registration includes: Participation in the Scientific Sessions Attendance Certificate Meeting Kit Hotel Accomodation for Friday night Welcome Dinner on Friday, March 9 th N. 1 Open Brunch N. 2 Coffee Breaks CLINICAL CASES PRESENTATION Time allowed for each clinical case is 2 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. During the discussion, participants will be involved and will actively participate by using a sort of televote procedure. AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT PC projection (only POWER POINT file) will be provided in the Meeting Hall, please contact the Slide Centre at least one hour before the lecture to test all the audiovisual material. LANGUAGE The official language of the Meeting is English. Simultaneous translation will be provided. ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATE At the end of the Meeting an attendance certificate will be issued to all registered participants. INSURANCE Registration does not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that whenever your register for a Meeting and book your travel, you take out an insurance policy of your choice.
