3 Aim Clinical practice guidelines are an important tool in applying evidencebased medicine to patient care, especially in a complex and rapidly evolving field such as oncology. Indeed, several lines of evidence demonstrate that the use of guidelines in the practice of clinical oncology can help in treatment decisions and ultimately lead to significant improvement in patient outcomes. However, even in the presence of evidence-based recommendations, adherence to practice guidelines varies widely across countries, due to cultural and organizational differences. The aim of this live educational workshop is to review the current standards of care for metastatic colorectal cancer (mcrc) and to provide medical oncologists with insight into emerging targets and new treatment options for mcrc patients. In parallel, the applicability of international guidelines for mcrc patients treatment across countries will be discussed, highlighting critical issues that lead to differences in recommendations between countries. Learning objectives After attending this live educational workshop, learners will be able to: Describe relevant molecular pathways in mcrc Analyse current evidence-based recommendations for mcrc patients treatment Evaluate notable variations in clinical practice guidelines for mcrc across countries Target audience Medical oncologists coming from Eurasia as well as North-West and Southern Africa who are experienced in managing metastatic colorectal cancer patients and who want to gain insight into the biology of the disease and new treatment options. 2

13 Call for clinical cases EXCEMED, together with the Scientific Organiser, are inviting submissions of clinical case studies from participants to be presented and analysed during the live educational workshop in Dubai. Authors are requested to send the clinical case in PowerPoint format by to by 1 October EXCEMED s medical team will review submissions and select the successful clinical cases. Format and structure Clinical cases must be written in English and cover a maximum of seven PowerPoint slides. The potential presentation must be exclusively dedicated to the selected clinical case and last up to ten minutes. Please use size 14 Calibri font type, according the following structure: 1.
