2 Background philosophy & theory for understanding change The Power of the Subconscious Mind The subconscious mind is in charge of approximately 90-98% of what goes on in our bodies and mind and will always override the conscious mind! That might help you understand why it s sometimes difficult to break habits and patterns of behaviour. It is also why it s very important to be able to access the subconscious mind when you want to gain clarity and awareness of yourself while in the process of change. The subconscious mind has the following characteristics: Both automatic and autonomic (reflexive) Regulates the health of the 50+ trillion cells in body Stores and processes emotions, memories and beliefs Stores ALL of the sensory data taken in by the senses not in your consciousness It is the Reactive Mind patterned thoughts, feelings, actions, words Its role is to protect and teach us, as part of the evolutionary journey of the spirit! * There is no choice or judgement within the subconscious mind. It doesn t know time, logic, creativity or reason. It simply reacts! The Conscious Mind 2-10% in control While we perceive ourselves to be conscious beings, it is only true for a small percentage of the time. Our consciousness is constructed through our belief system based on parenting, memories, life experience, culture, schooling etc. The conscious mind represents: We don t perceive the truth. We perceive what we believe! Our experience when we actively engage with our sensory perceptions Our ability to be creative, logical, rational, solve problems (neocortex left & right hemispheres) An awareness of symptoms & emotions How is the mind programmed? * Choice ONLY exists within the conscious mind. Our ability to choose love, create efficient tools, and develop strategies for thriving is directly related to the primary relationships in our lives. Parents (especially mothers), siblings, extended family, teachers, religious leaders, doctors, media, etc, imprint patterns of either love or fear. Jocelyn Harvey Transform Within Copyright

3 The subconscious mind is primarily and progressively programmed with emotions thoughts, feelings, and beliefs from conception to puberty. During this period, every sensory experience is downloaded and integrated into survival mechanisms of the subconscious mind. This process is automatic, autonomic and reflexive. (autonomic chiefly Physiology involuntary or unconscious; relating to the autonomic nervous system) The Innate Wisdom of the Body If we internalise, deny or disconnect from our emotions (e-motion energy in motion), there will be resistance to the flow of energy in our mind & body, and the subconscious mind sends a signal as a means of protection. That signal is one of symptoms and/or stress. Expanding on that a little more: emotion is an innate part of the subconscious mind and its operating system. Here are two analogies that might help you connect with the concept: Analogy 1 - The subconscious mind is connected to emotion the way a fish is connected to water. Analogy 2 - If the subconscious mind were a power grid, then emotion is the electricity that flows through it. If the body s flow of energy is blocked in any way, the subconscious mind will send a signal symptoms or stress. Imagine you re doing a science experiment at school with a light bulb. If there is increased resistance to the flow of electricity (all other things considered) the light globe will not shine as brightly. In the same way, if the energy is not flowing well through the meridians (subtle energy pathways) in our bodies we cannot shine and maintain optimal health. We will start to observe symptoms and/or dis-ease, as well as stress and disharmony in relationships. Emotion is the subtle energy flowing through the meridians in your body. Any resistance to that flow is caused by the subconscious mind expressing emotions in either acute or chronic maladaptive ways. That s why you hear the expression you have to feel to heal because that s when we allow the energy to flow through us. Have you ever noticed that if you have a good cry and get it out of your system you often feel a lot better? The key to maintaining optimal health physically, emotionally, mentally & spiritually is to learn to process our emotions in the moment. When we observe nature, we notice that a deer, for example, after escaping a predator will often twitch all over its body for a few minutes and then go back to what it was doing. They literally shake off a stressful experience, and by learning to process our emotions we can shake things off more readily as well. Jocelyn Harvey Transform Within Copyright

4 Symptoms and stress really are just the tip of the iceberg. What lies underneath are unprocessed emotions from a time in your life when you didn t know how to cope with stressful situations. For example: a teacher making fun of you, the arrival of your baby brother or sister, being teased or bullied in high school, parents fighting, being in a car accident, etc. An Empowering View Symptoms and stress are the language or code that the subconscious mind uses as a way to tell you that you are ready to change! (Interestingly, the greatest human fear, even more than death, is change.) E-motion is simply energy in motion and if we don t have the consciousness and sufficiently developed tools, strategies and support to deal with our emotions then the subconscious mind will express the emotion through our body or the relationships in our life until such time as we do, i.e. it will re-act, react, re-act. The key to all healing and change lies within the subconscious mind the 90% of reality below the surface of our daily awareness. The primary purpose of the subconscious mind is to protect and teach the spirit for its evolutionary journey. This is what is called the Spirit Protection Reflex (SPR). To this end, the subconscious stores emotions that at certain times in our lives we didn t have the conscious tools to process. We then attract similar situations and/or repeat patterns of reaction until we are able to learn and grow and respond differently. How often do you hear of people needing to be in crisis before they are willing to, or accept that they need to change some aspect of their lives or behaviour? It s like their bodies or relationships are yelling at them to wake up! Through the language of symptoms, the subconscious tells us when we have the consciousness and the tools, strategies and support needed to change & grow. The Good News Your Body is a Self-Healing Organism. It is its own most efficient pharmacy and has the capacity to produce any chemical necessary to aid with healing. Every cell in your body and every relationship in your life is intelligently and creatively designed to heal, regenerate completely and be whole. On a certain level everybody knows this to be true. Every cell in your body is designed to heal, regenerate and be whole. We have 50+ trillion cells in our bodies! Take a moment to think about that. 5 Your body knows how to turn food into energy and get rid of whatever isn t serving it automatically, without even thinking about it. All our bodies need is for us to take responsibility for them. (We will briefly cover the 5 acts for optimal health at the end of the workshop.) Muscle reflex testing. Muscle reflex testing allows us to dialogue directly with the subconscious mind, detect the gaps between the conscious and subconscious minds and get to the root cause of your issues. We are then able to harmonise any resistance to the flow of energy in the body being expressed as: Physical symptoms or stress in relationships Limiting beliefs and filtered thinking Unprocessed emotions that cause you to think, feel, react and speak in ways that are no longer serving you What would it be like to be a Super-conscious being? Being super-conscious is when both the conscious and subconscious levels of the mind are working in harmony towards the same intention, allowing our true nature to shine. It is an empowered, authentic and knowing state filled with love and inner peace. When we are super-conscious, we have the ability to live in the present moment the power of now. You may hear this referred to as Present Time Consciousness (PTC), being present, living in presence (a more spiritual perspective), or have presence of mind. Living in the present moment means we are able to: 1. sit with and observe our emotions 2. see pain, fear and challenges as opportunities for learning and growth 3. authentically express ourselves and our needs 4. love and accept ourselves and others Imagine being able to create change in your life by being present in every moment, owning your power and expressing your true self! 6 2 Key therapeutic tools to harmonise reactions of the subconscious mind 1. Infinite Love Sequence The Infinite Love Sequence has two components: the hand mudra that means I love you in American sign language and saying the words infinite love & gratitude with compassion and intention. Hand mudra. Dr Weissman was introduced to the American sign-language hand gesture for I love you in 1998 when his deaf cousin, Rob, was working as an intern at his wellness centre. After a full day of observing Dr Darren working with clients, Rob held up his hand to Darren in the I love you sign. Immediately, Dr Darren felt a warm, powerful and peaceful feeling, which he found intriguing. Based on his Clinical Kinesiology studies, Dr Darren already knew that when touching a specific point on the body, different hand postures would elicit a different response while muscle testing. His personal response to receiving the I love you sign made him wonder He asked Rob if he could test him for weak reflex points on his body. Rob said yes, and when Dr Darren found a weak reflex, he held his hand in the I love you sign next to Rob s body and the reflex instantly locked out. This occurred for all of Rob s weak reflex points. Both Dr Darren and Rob looked at one another in amazement, and the power of the I love you hand gesture, with its unique energetic vibration, was realised! Infinite love & gratitude. The use of Infinite Love & Gratitude as a therapeutic tool in The LifeLine Technique came about due to Dr Emoto s ground-breaking water crystal research. Dr Emoto was a visionary and a Japanese doctor of alternative medicine. Dr Emoto asked the big question: Does water have consciousness? He conducted a series of tests in which he placed the same water sample in a number of different test tubes and then taped different words to the outside of each test tube. He snap froze the test tubes and then using a dark field microscope he took photographs of the crystals that formed. Every word formed a different crystal! He also did the tests in different languages so that the testers didn t know what the words meant. Dr Emoto also experimented with music and prayer, i.e. thoughts: the lake water sample before prayer didn t form a crystal but after a group of monks prayed near the lake the next lake sample taken formed a beautiful crystal. The results were remarkable. Dr Emoto determined that words, music and even thoughts have an instantaneous effect on the molecular structure of water and that love and gratitude is the most life enhancing vibration. 7 Based on this research and knowing that the body is about 70% water, the blood 82% water, and brain 90% water, Dr Weissman wondered what would happen to the human body when influenced by the words love & gratitude. He added the word infinite to connect with the infinite nature of the universe and the innate connectedness or oneness of everyone. He did a large number of before and after red blood cell analysis testing with numerous clients and the results were profound. After only just minute LifeLine Technique sessions, people s blood analysis changed significantly. You can view some of the photos at my website through this link (TransformWithin.com.au). The results proved to Dr Weissman that using the American hand sign for I love you and saying the words infinite love & gratitude has an instantaneous harmonising effect for our body, mind and spirit. 2. Muscle Reflex Testing Muscle reflex testing (MRT) is focused on the reflex response, which is different to straight muscle testing. The reflex response is autonomic, which means the nervous system automatically and instantly reacts to a certain stimulus. Muscle reflexes can be activated by any one of your senses. So you could see a certain colour, hear a voice or a song, smell a certain fragrance, touched with a certain pressure and it could trigger a belief, a memory, or a thought pattern that is totally reactive. In some cases it could be a negative reaction and at other times it could be positive and uplifting. These reflexes can run either way. To create change we need to bridge the gap between the conscious and subconscious mind so that when a reflex loops us into fear, we can guide and influence that reactive pattern to be a healthier & more empowered one. What is Muscle Reflex Testing? Muscle Reflex Testing (MRT) is fast, non-invasive and it literally is a laser-like mechanism. Using MRT allows us to perceive imbalances in the body and mind as little as 2%. It enables us to find gaps between the conscious and subconscious mind. Here are a few key things to note: We are not assessing muscle strength; we are feeling for a reflex in the nervous system that stems from a subconscious reaction. Reflexes are activated by any one of the senses, and are an automatic, autonomic (nervous system) pattern of reaction. For example, irises contracting when exposed to bright light, or flinching or blinking when an object comes towards your face quickly. These reflexes are a protective mechanism stemming from the subconscious mind and are reactive in nature, i.e. no choice. When a reflex is activated we know that there is a gap between the subconscious mind and the conscious mind, which takes us out of the present moment and causes resistance to the Jocelyn Harvey Transform Within Copyright

8 flow of energy in your mind and body because it is at odds with itself. If this continues over time that s when symptoms and stress show up. Two important things to remember. Firstly, because it is a protective mechanism, the subconscious reflex will always override a conscious choice. So using the LifeLine Technique method of muscle reflex testing reveals genuine underlying limiting beliefs and unprocessed emotions from any time in our life that are still held at a subconscious level. And secondly, the subconscious mind, and subsequently the body as it reacts, does not know the difference between imagination, memory or reality. So simply remembering past events and feeling the associated emotions can trigger a subconscious reaction, which is revealed to us by the muscle reflex. Once revealed we can then harmonise, release and transform subconscious emotional patterns of reaction for good. This brings congruence and harmony back to our minds, bodies and relationships, leading to true health & vitality. Why do we use Muscle Reflex Testing? It is the reflex that helps us to truly discern the difference between a conscious active choice and a subconscious reactive pattern. Ultimately, resistance to the flow of energy or life force in our systems is caused by the subconscious mind expressing emotions in either acute or chronic maladaptive ways. Muscle reflex testing enables us to uncover the subconscious emotional patterns of reaction (reflexes) that are at the root of symptoms and stress. Rather than using MRT to diagnose, treat or cure, we recognise that the body is a self-healing organism. We simply use MRT as a means to decipher the code of symptoms by bridging the gap between the conscious and subconscious mind. And when we bridge that gap, and we do it continuously, your body can t help but be what it was designed to be a self-healing organism. 9 How does Muscle Reflex Testing work? Muscle Reflex Testing in The LifeLine Technique is conducted by having you hold one of your arms at 90 degrees with your elbow tucked in at your side and relaxed wrist. Slow, even pressure is applied to your wrist while asking you to meet the resistance with your bent arm. When there is a lock position, your baseline or reference point, called the zero point, has been established. Any reflex reactions will then be interpreted from this zero point. Generally an arm that gives way (i.e. a reflex has been activated) means that the statement being made is not true for you at a subconscious level, or an unprocessed emotion is still causing resistance to your energetic flow. When there is congruence in your system at both the conscious and subconscious level your energy flow will be strong and the muscle reflex will lock out.
