5 Defining Happiness at Work Happiness is an over-generalized term This doesn t mean we should abandon it Focused meaning in a specific context
6 What Happiness at Work ISN T General happiness: Broad, not work-specific Well-being: General, more health-related Job satisfaction: Passive state, not motivational Engagement: Evaluation of action, not resources
7 Three types of happiness Emotional happiness Short-term, burst of positive affect Mindset happiness Relatively stable, sensitive to change Trait happiness Generally stable across lifetime
8 What is happiness at work? Happiness at work is a mindset which enables action to maximize performance and achieve potential. The feeling of working towards a goal with the belief that you will achieve it.
