AT ANY TIME YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE INSTRUCTIONS, PLEASE CALL THE FORD PERFORMANCE TECHLINE AT NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details. 1. Remove the negative battery cable 2. Release the clips and remove the floor console RH side trim panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover Techline Page 1 of 33 IS

2 3. Release the clips and the floor console LH side trim panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover Techline Page 2 of 33 IS

3 4. Remove the stowage area mat. Techline Page 3 of 33 IS

4 5. Remove the 7mm floor console upper bolts. Techline Page 4 of 33 IS

5 6. NOTE: Automatic transmission shown, manaul transmission similar. Remove the selector lever bezel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover Techline Page 5 of 33 IS

6 7. Position aside the selector lever boot. Disconnect the electrical connector. (Automatic Transmission Only) Techline Page 6 of 33 IS

7 8. Open the floor console lid. Techline Page 7 of 33 IS

8 9. Remove the RH side 7mm retainer bolts. Torque: 18 lb.in (2 Nm) Techline Page 8 of 33 IS

9 10. Remove the LH side 7mm retainer bolts. Torque: 18 lb.in (2 Nm) Techline Page 9 of 33 IS

10 11. Release the clips, position the gear selector cover aside and remove the floor console upper trim panel. Disconnect the electrical connectors. Techline Page 10 of 33 IS

11 12. Remove the stowage area tray. 13. Release the clips and remove RH instrument panel trim panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover Techline Page 11 of 33 IS

NOTE: Instrument panel center finish panel with optional ICM shown. 14. Release the clips and remove the instrument panel center finish panel. 1. Disconnect the ICM electrical connector, if equipped.

13 15. Remove the trim cover. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover Techline Page 13 of 33 IS

14 16. Remove the bolts and the FCIM. a. Disconnect the electrical connectors. Torque: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm) Techline Page 14 of 33 IS

15 17. Support the FCIM housing on any suitable object as shown. FCIM switches must not be touching the work bench Techline Page 15 of 33 IS

16 18. Remove the 10 T10 Torx screws holding the back FCIM cover in place Techline Page 16 of 33 IS

17 19. Remove the back FCIM cover. Do NOT touch the FCIM circuit board Techline Page 17 of 33 IS

18 20. Remove the 5 T10 Torx screws holding the FCIM circuit board and gently remove the circuit board by holding the electrical connectors. Techline Page 18 of 33 IS

After the first retainer has been unclipped proceed to remove the

23 25. With a pick or suitable tool gently release the first starter button cover cap retainer. After the first retainer has been unclipped proceed to remove the second retainer on the opposite site of the button assembly Techline Page 23 of 33 IS

24 26. Gently remove the starter button cap 27. Gently line up the new red GT350 starter button and click it into position. Make sure that both retaining tangs are fully locked into place. Techline Page 24 of 33 IS

25 28. Reinstall the engine start and toggle switch assembly Techline Page 25 of 33 IS

26 29. Reinstall the climate control switch pack into the FCIM housing Make sure that the engine start and toggle switch assembly contact pad is fully seated Techline Page 26 of 33 IS

30. Reinstall the engine start and toggle switch contact pad Make sure that the two contact pad alignment pins line up with the contact pad holes.

27 30. Reinstall the engine start and toggle switch contact pad Make sure that the two contact pad alignment pins line up with the contact pad holes. Make sure that the toggle switch contact pad is fully seated and correctly overlapping the climate control switch pack contact pad. Techline Page 27 of 33 IS

30 32. Reinstall the FCIM circuit board by holding the electrical connectors and gently lowering it into the FCIM housing. Do NOT overtighten the 5 T10 Torx screws Techline Page 30 of 33 IS

32 33. Reinstall the back FCIM cover Do NOT overtighten the 10 T10 Torx screws Techline Page 32 of 33 IS

33 34. Reinstall all electrical connectors and trim panels in the reverse order that they were removed. Techline Page 33 of 33 IS
