2 OUR MISSION, GOALS, AND PRIORITIES Hep B United is a national coalition dedicated to reducing the health disparities associated with hepatitis B by increasing awareness, screening, vaccination, and linkage to care for high-risk communities across the United States. Goals Awareness raise the profile of hepatitis B and liver cancer as an urgent public health priority. Prevention increase hepatitis B testing and vaccination, particularly among Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders and other high-risk communities. Intervention improve access to care and treatment for individuals living with hepatitis B to prevent end-stage liver disease and liver cancer.

8 BACKGROUND/CONTEXT STATEMENT Hep B United is a national coalition that empathizes with people who have been affected by hepatitis B and works with community members to promote health equity, respect, and empowerment for hepatitis B advocates. The coalition is made up of community leaders who felt that those working to combat hepatitis B were isolated and marginalized, very much like those at- risk for, or affected by, hepatitis B infection. Hep B United promotes equitable access to health care education, preventive medicine, testing, care, and treatment, especially for underserved communities. As hepatitis B does not discriminate in terms of the people it impacts, Hep B United seeks to identify and address inequities among vulnerable and underserved populations.
9 OUR VALUES Our unified coalition embodies a value-centric philosophy of engagement. Our values speak to this belief. Empathy working for the community as part of the community and ending stigma and discrimination against individuals affected by hepatitis B Respect treating all people impacted by hepatitis B with dignity and without bias Health Equity promoting equitable access to health care, education, preventive medicine, education, testing, and treatment for everyone affected by hepatitis B Empowerment fostering the power of community and increasing the capacity of organizations and service providers working to combat hepatitis B Partnership working in solidarity and in a transparent manner towards each other to serve communities affected by hepatitis B
