3 Mission and Vision NASTAD s mission is to end the intersecting epidemics of HIV, viral hepatitis, and related conditions by strengthening domestic and global governmental public health through advocacy, capacity building, and social justice. NASTAD's vision is a world free of HIV and viral hepatitis. 3
4 NASTAD s Chair s Challenge The 2016 Ready to End the HIV and Viral Hepatitis Epidemics Board Chair s Challenge calls on U.S. health departments to accelerate the end of HIV and viral hepatitis in the U.S. For Hepatitis Awareness Month the Ending the Epidemics Success Stories will highlight state and local efforts to eliminate Hepatitis C. 4
5 Call to Action In May, NASTAD will release a Call to Action urging decision makers to make hepatitis a priority. 5
6 Hep B United is a national coalition that was established by the Hepatitis B Foundation and the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations to address the public health challenge of hepatitis B. Hep B United Coalition Partners HBU is dedicated to reducing the health disparities associated with hepatitis B by increasing awareness, screening, vaccination, and linkage to care for high-risk communities across the United States.
