ABOUT PENN AUTISM NETWORK Penn Autism Network (PAN) is a collaborative group of family members, individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and the people who work with them. PAN s mission is to maximize awareness about issues of importance for adults with ASD and their families; to identify, develop and disseminate resources to promote successful adaptation and inclusion in the community; and to serve as a catalyst for positive programmatic and systemic changes. ABOUT THE CONFERENCE This conference presents a unique and exciting opportunity to focus on promoting systems of supports and services for adults with ASD, including transition to adulthood issues. Participants of this conference will be able to: Define effective intervention strategies to promote advocacy and successful community integration for adolescents and adults with ASD. Develop skills to address the needs of adolescents and adults with ASD and their families in specific areas. Share best strategies and utilize new knowledge for creating healthy environments and promoting positive relationships conducive to best outcomes for individuals with ASD. Make new connections with others who are working on behalf of individuals with ASD and their families. For Psychologists: The Dept. of Psychiatry, Univ. of Pennsylvania is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. The Dept. of Psychiatry, Univ. of Pennsylvania maintains responsibility for this program. Each workshop carries 1.5 CEUs. Plenary sessions carry 1.25 CEUs. For Educators: This conference is approved for 5.5 Act 48 hours to be provided by the Delaware County Intermediate Unit. For Social Workers: This program is co-sponsored by the Univ. of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice. Social Work: Participants who attend the entire program are eligible to receive 5.5 Social Work Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice is a pre-approved provider of CE credits for Pennsylvania licensed Social Workers. Each contact hour is equal to one CEU. Social Workers from states other than Pennsylvania should contact their licensing board to determine whether CEU s granted by the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice are accepted for licensure renewal. National Certified Counselors: Participants who attend the entire program are eligible to receive.5 NCC Continuing Education Credits. The Univ. of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice is recognized by the Natl. Board for Certified Counselors to offer continuing education for Natl. Certified Counselors. We adhere to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines. One CEU is equivalent to ten contact hours. (NBCC #4486) For Other Professionals: We will provide a Certificate of Attendance on the day of the conference. You will be required to submit this certificate to your professional organization.
