It has a light dry feel and provides moisturisation that leaves a soft, smooth after-feel on the skin. Applications Finsolv EB is a valuable addition to all types of personal care products due to its light, dry feel and quick absorbency. Finsolv EB demonstrates high solvency properties which makes it an excellent solubiliser for sunscreen preparations. As an added benefit, it can be used to effectively enhance moisturisation and emolliency similar to petrolatum but without the greasy after feel. 2 Sunscreen Solubility Finsolv EB has an outstanding ability to prevent the re-crystallisation of sunscreens in a formulation. This allows for maximum UV protection as well as even spreading on the skin. Sunscreen crystal growth (oxybenzone & avobenzone) Finsolv EB prevents sunscreen crystals from forming U.S. Guidelines Freeze/thaw conditions are the most difficult conditions for sunscreen formulations to pass because of the ease of crystal growth. Under freeze/thaw conditions, the maximum solubility of Oxybenzone in Finsolv EB is 16%. The maximum solubility of Avobenzone solubilised in Finsolv EB is 18%. Start to heat at 75 C and add and mix phase B and phase C. 3. In a separate vessel mix and melt ingredients of phase D to 75 C. 4. Add and homogenise the carbomer to the oil phase at 75 C until evenly dispersed. 5. Add and homogenise the oil phase to the water phase at 75 C. 6.
