IHR-PVS National Bridging Workshop (NBW) Indonesia was held in Bali, August 2017 IHR-PVS NBW Indonesia experience: - the process, - the joint road map developed and - the priority activities planned including how it could be integrated into the current efforts under the IHR- MEF/JEE and the National Action Plan for Health Security (NAPHS)

5 Timeline Implementation of IHR 2005 in Indonesia Advocation, Dissemination Develop strategic Plan Established National Committee of IHR 2005 Implementation Complete Implementation Process of assesment Results: Lack of some capacities (surveilans, respons, laboratory and infection controll, WHO suggest to strengthen coordination cross sector, mainly in Port of Entry Self Assessment Result: minimum main capacity for surveilans and Port of Entry not comply yet Apply extention of implementation of IHR (2005) up to June 2014 National Committee of IHR Implementation develop strategy to accelerate complying main capacities.

6 Time of Implementation in Indonesia a PVS Evaluation was conducted in 2007; a PVS Gap Analysis was conducted in 2011; IHR self assessment in a Joint External Evaluation (JEE) mission is planned for November 2017 and currently conducting the preparatory self-assessment exercise. 9 Participants working on a case study scenario (H5N1, H7N9, Rabies, Anthrax, Leptospirosis) and evaluating the level of collaboration between the sectors for 16 key technical areas 5 priorities T.A : (1) Coordination (2) HR & Education (3) Risk Assessment & Surveillance (4) Response (5) Communication

10 Results obtained for the technical group focusing on Response. The reporting panel is split into two columns (public health and animal health), orange and green post-its summarize respectively the gaps and the recommendations described in the assessment reports or identified from case study discussions.

11 The group working on Human resources and education identified two objectives and five activities to improve the collaboration between the two sectors in this domain.

13 Participants are doing a collective mapping of the gaps by positioning their technical area cards on the IHR-PVS matrix.

14 All participants were asked to vote individually via a mobile application and to select which 5 of the 12 objectives they considered as of highest priority. Coordination

15 Role-play panel where activities proposed by participants are challenged one last time for final fine-tuning

16 Way forward Harmonized, concrete and achievable roadmap to improve the collaboration between the animal health and human health sectors in the prevention, detection and response to zoonotic diseases.
