4 04 Helping you get ahead BECOMING A NEW PERSONAL TRAINER Becoming a new personal trainer is not an easy decision to make. With high unemployment and a tough UK economy landscape, many people are searching for alternative careers to safeguard their futures. I should know because that s how I started. After working overseas for a number of years I found it very difficult to get a decent job in the UK. I wasn t sure how I would survive, so I had to think very carefully about my future and knew that I needed to be in a well paid job, which I enjoyed and enabled me to help people. Having spent many years going to the gym it was an environment I felt comfortable in, plus I felt I would be able to adapt easily. Then I completed a REPs approved Level 2 Fitness Instructor and a Level 3 Personal Trainer course. As we noticed that the needs of our students kept changing, we decided to expand our range of courses, keeping the same high levels of training quality. So now we also offer Sports Massage, which complements our Personal Training Courses. We also have added Health and Social Care Diploma which allow students to start a career within residential and community settings. 11 11 Level 2 Certificate Fitness Instructing Gym You have been exercising in a gym before and thought what would it be like working as a Fitness Instructor? It is a rewarding job to have and be the starting point for various roles within the Health and Fitness Industry. Most students enrolling at Level 2 Fitness Instructor then progress to Level 3 Personal Trainer. BLENDED LEARNING This method of studying involves training at one of our state-of-the-art Centres. You will learn practical elements along with theory. You will learn how to use, teach and demonstrate the Cardio and Resistance machines, Free-weights, Circuits, Stretching and Core exercises. The course also includes Health and Safety and Customer Care. You receive support and guidance from our experienced tutors. Duration: 4 weekends. DISTANCE LEARNING This is ideal for people who have a good understanding of using gym equipment. In comparison to Blended Learning, there is no difference regarding the content or learning materials. Instead of face-to-face teaching, you will learn using books. Tutor support is available Monday to Friday 9-5pm. Duration: Within 6 months, but can be done as quickly as 3 months!
