Barbara Stoiber has booked many vendors in the coming months, so look for the flyers and stop by and do some shopping. Speaking of shopping, come on by the gift shop and see all the goodies they have. Don t forget you get 15 percent off. The gift shop does a great job under Nancy Snow s guidance. 2 THE PULSE OF THE AUXILIARY PAGE 2 Where am I in the mornings?? I am now working in Cardio Pulmonary from 8am-12pm Monday through Friday. If you need to reach me during those hours please call me on my cell phone (number is at the front desk), or at x1225. Volunteer opportunities due to a few volunteers moving on to do other things, or working weekends, or signing up to drive the cart, etc., we have a few of spots to be filled on the floor shifts. Monday morning, Wednesday morning, Friday morning, Tuesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon. If you know anyone who might be interested in volunteering please let them know we now have some spots available. Or, if you would like to change your shift or pick up an additional shift, please let me know. Courtesy Shuttle I want to thank everyone who has signed up to drive the courtesy shuttle. Unfortunately there have been only a few drivers who consistently drive at the times they signed up for. If you have signed up to drive on a specific day but have not been driving, I will be looking at changing assignments and recruiting for other drivers. Problems/Concerns/Complaints if you have ANY problems, concerns or complaints about anything, PLEASE come and talk to me so we can work through it. Issues tend to fester rather than resolve themselves when not addressed, and since you are giving your time so generously, you should be able to enjoy the experience! 3 THE PULSE OF THE AUXILIARY PAGE 3 Barbara Stoiber I have had a very fortunate life. Of course we all have our ups and downs but God has blessed me with a wonderful family and a good life. I thought what can I do to repay the good Lord for my life. I did remember that the hospital had a Volunteer Department and I came about 10 plus years ago and signed up. It has been a wonderful experience and very fulfilling. I love doing Ways and Means. 4 THE PULSE OF THE AUXILIARY PAGE 4 VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH Nancy Snow I have been an active Auxiliary member for 20 years. My sister, past president, Barbara Poe, introduced me to the Auxiliary in 1993, as something to participate in after retiring as manager for the Retail Clerks Credit Union. I have logged in 11,000 volunteer hours. I also produced the Auxiliary newsletter and the Roster for about ten years. I am a native Californian and moved to this area in My husband Gary and I will have been married 50 years this coming June. I have one married daughter and one married grandson. Both raised, schooled and still live in the local area. Primarily I have worked in the Gift Shop and feel the Auxiliary aids in providing for many essential medical requirements of our community. The Auxiliary not only assists the hospital and staff, it also aids the community by providing many services. I enjoy working in the Gift Shop and all funds we collect go for improvements and equipment in the hospital, providing needed benefits to the people of our community. 5 THE PULSE OF THE AUXILIARY Page 6 Mother's Day Breakfast Happy Mother s Day! Here's a present you know she'll love. Using a cookie cutter or a knife, cut out a small heart shape from the center of a thick slice of bread. Spread each side of bread with herb butter. Heat skillet over medium heat. Sauté bread until golden, 2 to 3 minutes. Lower heat, and gently flip toast. Break an egg into heart-shaped hole. Cover, and cook until egg white turns opaque, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate along with the heart-shaped piece of cutout bread, perfect for dipping into yolk. Serve with a cup of hot cocoa or cafe au lait. Get Well Soon.
