1 15/03/ 2016 Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to officially announce the date for the inaugural Infection Prevention Control Ireland (IPCI) annual conference This national conference is an open event for all healthcare professionals and will be held in the Citywest Hotel & Golf Resort, Saggart, Co Dublin on the 4 th May Our theme for this year s conference is. We are pleased to announce that we have some key note national speakers including Dr Vida Hamilton, National Clinical Sepsis Lead. The format of the event consists of sessions covering such topics as surviving sepsis from a patient s perspective as well as implementation plans and lessons learnt (please see attached programme). The focus of the event is to raise awareness and reduce adverse outcomes from this life threatening condition. The topics covered are suitable for healthcare workers working within both the acute and community settings. As partners in the provision of healthcare services, we would like to invite you to book your place at conference as soon as possible to secure a place. IPCI members have free registration to the society meeting on the 3 rd, the member s dinner the night before as well as conference on the 4th. Non IPCI member s registration fee is 40. All bookings should only be made via Ms Claire Dowling, IPC Ireland Treasurer as per attached booking form. Closing date for registration is 22 nd April and submission of Abstracts for the Poster competition is 15 th April In these difficult financial times I would like to highlight that annual membership for IPCI costs 75 and would prove a very economical alternative for non members as for an addition 40 (includes once off 5 administration fee) members can attend the quarterly meetings, avail of the discussion forum and shared documentation on our members only site, access a network of like minded professionals and attend the annual conference and members dinner all free of charge. It is fantastic value for money and something we hope you would consider. The conference fee includes a delegate pack, morning coffee and a sit down lunch with ample time allotted to network and to visit the exhibition stands. The exhibition consists of approximately 40 commercial partners with a particular interest in infection prevention and control and provides delegates with an excellent opportunity to view new and innovative technologies across a wide range of products.
