Best Wishes for the Year Christmas Dinner in pictures Food, drinks and service at Shaukiwan was abundant and very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although a very good number of members attended and enjoyed the fare and good company, we missed some friends who couldn't make it because of other commitments, or can t take Chinese Food and others. Let s work together to make 2017 a better year. 1

2 Notice of Annual General Meeting 2017 The date for the 2017 Annual General Meeting is set for Friday 17th February. We are still negotiating the venue (and the tea break menu ) but please keep this date free. Your presence is solicited and appreciated. Please note that the closing date for receipt of committee nominations/statute motions is Friday 3rd Feb. (see page 4). Further details and statutory notices will be issued in due course Membership Fees are now due in accordance with the Statute and must be paid by the end of February latest together with the completed renewal form (see page 3 - forms also available in clubhouse or print here ). Attendees to the AGM must have renewed their membership or pay as they enter in order to be entitled to participate and vote. Please note that your Insurance Cover expires with your membership on 28th February. Members in arrears after 28th Feb are not allowed to fly at Ta Qali as they are not insured. Late renewals may be considered as a new membership. Keeping the place clean and well maintained: Every effort is being made to keep our flying site clean and safe. Rubbish bins are regularly checked and emptied. Unfortunately some rubbish still finds its way on the floor in the pits and car parking area. Volunteers cleaning up the area from time to time get their garbage bags full in no time! This shows lack of respect to other members and has to stop. Please keep the place clean. Runway surface maintenance: Runway maintenance is carried out throughout the year. Regular weed spraying, debris collection and cutting of the long tough weeds at the North West approach zone paid off. Flyers can enjoy a safe and smooth runway throughout the year. All this is 2 being done with minimal or no runway downtime.

FLY ZONES should and must be respected all day long. There s no morning, afternoon or evening exceptions. Defaulters will be held to account. Self regulation is the key to success. All flyers are expected to fly safe and responsibly. Safety is our number one priority. May we kindly remind members of their duty to keep the place clean. Several efforts are made to keep the place tidy. We notice too much litter thrown carelessly on the floor notwithstanding several new litter bins along the pits area. Unfortunately even the Toilet room is subject to misuse! Members are urged to flush (and brush if necessary) after use. Please leave this room clean as you would like to find it 5 and respect your fellow members. Manners maketh man

Safety and Behavior Our first priority is safety for all Club members, visitors and other third parties. This is closely followed by considerate behavior towards all fellow members. Respect the guidelines and wishes of the Committee as we work hard towards your safety and enjoyment. We again remind that the Committee can be contacted by on on club matters / issues. Every effort is made to keep the place clean and safe for each and every member to enjoy. Please use the facilities diligently and safely. Let s appreciate and enjoy what we have achieved together.
