2 Page 2 Opportunities Children s If there is one ministry that sets us apart from many other churches it is Children s. Our church is deeply committed to providing a variety of ministries to this important part of our church family. We are always looking for people who love and want to minister to kids. Children's Sabbath School Leader We offer a number of children s Sabbath School classes each Saturday morning. Each of these classes requires a leader that will take primary responsibility for a specific age group. We offer the following classes: Beginners (ages 0-2) Primary (ages 3-5) Kindergarten (ages 6-9) Juniors (ages 10-13) Youth (ages 14-17) We are looking for people who are willing to lead a class for a minimum of one year. Children's Sabbath School Assistant Not quite ready to lead? That s okay. We are always looking for people who are willing to assist in a children s classroom. Assistants serve an extremely important role in the classroom assisting the leader and providing one-on-one interaction with the children. Schedules for assistants can be very flexible for those who may not wish to serve every Sabbath. Kingdom KIDZ Leader Each Sabbath we offer a children s church experience designed for children ages 4 to 12. The leader will be responsible for preparing and leading this service on Sabbath morning. The program will begin each Sabbath around 11:15am and continue until 12:30pm, or until the adult worship service concludes. Kingdom KIDZ Assistant Each Sabbath the attendance for children s church includes anywhere from 25 to 40 children. In order for this service to run smoothly, we need multiple assistants each week. Assistants will be in the room to support the leader and help the children stay focused and engaged with the program. KIDZ Life Leader / Assistant Each Wednesday evening starting at 6:45pm we offer programming for children ages 2 to 12. We believe it s important for children to have a mid-week refresher of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. We are looking for leaders and assistants to carry out the Wednesday night programming. Evangelism Childcare Assistant Due to our strong commitment to evangelism, we offer several three to four week Bible seminars per year. Each of these seminars will meet for ninety minutes per evening, usually five nights per week. During these seminars, we offer programming for children under ten so the parents can attend the meetings. As you can imagine, this requires a lot of volunteers to make this service available. Volunteers are asked to help at least once a week. Vacation Bible School Assistant From time to time we will offer children a week-long Bible School. Assistants will be asked to serve in a variety of areas and should be willing to commit to serving each evening of the five-night Bible school.
3 Page 3 Opportunities continued Communion Service Childcare Assistant Four times a year we offer a communion service to our church family. We provide childcare during the communion portion of the program so the parents can attend the service without worrying about their children. Children s Worship Bags We offer worship bags for children who wish to remain in the sanctuary during our weekly Saturday morning worship service. These bags contain stickers, coloring sheets and other items meant to keep the children quietly entertained. We are looking for volunteers to help with handing out and collecting the bags every week, as well as making sure the bags are kept up to date. KIDZFest Assistants / Planning and Prep / Leaders On the first Saturday of every month, we offer a daylong program just for kids. The day always begins with breakfast, followed by a special themed program that leads into children s church. Following lunch, there s always a fun, kid-friendly afternoon activity. We are always looking for individuals who are interested in helping with this special day. well as for recording and streaming. All video editing is done using Final Cut Pro on a Mac platform. This position takes a good knowledge of the software and computer system as well as creative talent. Media With all the advances in technology, we are learning new and innovative ways of using the variety of media available today for ministry. Most of these positions require at least a basic understanding of equipment, computers and/or software. Audio Engineer All services in our sanctuary require an audio engineer to mix sound for the those in attendance as Video Producer We see more and more opportunities for video segments to be used in our church. We need creative people who can take ideas and translate them into finished video projects. Video Scaler/Switch Operator During our worship services and other events held in our auditorium, a video switch operator will determine what is broadcast to the video screens. At any

Our Outreach ministry is specifically designed to impact those in our community that need the love of Jesus demonstrated to them in very practical ways. Outreach Event Coordinator Computer Hardware/Software Setup & Support As our church continues to grow, so does our appetite for computers and software. We need volunteers who are willing to take on a variety of tasks. A good knowledge of computer systems and servers is helpful as well as knowledge of a variety of software systems. Photo Editor/Manager With the photos that are taken, we need someone willing to manage and archive them. Uploading, sorting, deleting, editing and categorizing them is quite a responsibility. We need someone willing to oversee this important task. Social Media Coordinator We are always looking for additional ways that we can serve the people in our area who are in need. We need people who are willing to plan and organize various events that will give our church family opportunities to be involved in outreach. Health Worship Software Operator Every worship service requires a person willing to run the worship software that displays announcements, song lyrics, sermon notes and scripture texts build announcements during the worship service. Social media has become a crucial part of everyday life. We are looking for someone to oversee various social media accounts, including Facebook, twitter and Instagram. Live Streaming Host The Bible tells us that God not only cares about our spiritual well being, but He also wants us to enjoy good health. A significant portion of the ministry of Jesus was healing people. We believe God calls us to do the same. Worship Software Content Creator We use ProPresenter Presentation Software to provide all video and graphic for our services. There is an extensive amount of graphics and videos that must be produced every week prior to our services. We offer live streaming of our weekly Saturday morning worship services. During the live streaming, we have an opportunity to talk to the people watching online. We need someone to interact with our online visitors on a weekly basis. 5 Page 8 Page 5 Opportunities-continued Opportunities continued Communion Assistant Four times a year our church comes together to celebrate the communion service. Volunteers are needed to prepare the auditorium and gymnasium for this service. Baby Shower Coordinator In many cases when a family is preparing to have a baby, our church will provide a baby shower as a way to bless the family. We need volunteers that will work with the family and the church to schedule and support the baby shower. Wedding Shower Coordinator When a couple who is part of our church family decides to get married, we often times will provide a wedding shower. We need volunteers that will work with the couple to schedule and organize the wedding shower. Church Decorator It is always nice to see the church decorated with flower arrangements and other decorations to enhance our worship experiences. At different times during the year there is a need to decorate the church for special occasions and different events. Family Life Visitor/Support With such a large church family, we always seem to have families that are in need of support from our church. When a person has an extended stay in the hospital or a prolonged period of convalescing we would like people who are willing to visit and provide various types of support that may be a blessing to the family. Baptism Assistant With so many baptisms, there are some Sabbaths that we have several baptisms during a single service. When this happens, we need people who are willing to assist and help make sure everything is ready. They also make sure the baptismal service runs smoothly. Social One of the core values at Baltimore First is fellowship. We believe fellowship needs to take place in a number of different ways, times and places. To foster a friendly environment, we offer a wide variety of social activities that we hope will appeal to most of our church family. Social Activities Committee Member This person will serve along with others on a committee to help plan, organize and conduct the various social activities of our church. A lot of time and effort go in to making arrangements for a social. This could include running errands, making and receiving phone calls and internet research. This person will help in making these arrangements. Volunteers will also help plan future social activities throughout the year. We are always looking for new and creative ideas that will provide fun social events for our church family. Many socials require some site preparation before the event takes place as well as clean up after the event is concluded. These activities could include decorating and setting up the rooms before people arrive. Outreach Jesus made it clear that one of the responsibilities we as Christians have is to provide ministry to the hurting, hungry and homeless. Graphic Designer There is a constant need to develop materials promoting the various ministries in our church. Most of these materials require graphic design. Volunteers will need graphic design experience using a variety of software systems. Hospitality Fellowship is more than just an idea; it is an integral part of church life at Baltimore First. Every Sabbath we offer a fellowship lunch to the entire church family. Hospitality Team Leader Every week we serve lunch to our church family and friends. This is an enormous undertaking and is only possible with a lot of help. Each week a different hospitality team is responsible for the preparation, serving and cleanup of the meals. A hospitality team leader is the person that leads their group in this process. Hospitality teams serve one Sabbath per month. Hospitality Team Member If there is one ministry that needs lots of people, it is this one. Hospitality teams consist of 10 to 12 people. Team members agree to help prepare and serve lunch once a month. Shopper/Purchaser A lot of planning and preparation go into serving the meals to our church family each week. We need volunteers to help inventory and shop for the supplies needed to support our hospitality ministry. Heavy Kitchen Cleaner Each week hospitality teams are charged with cleaning the kitchen after each use. With such heavy use, we need people who are willing to do heavy cleaning about once a month or as needed. First Impressions First impressions are always important and at Baltimore First we believe they set us apart from the crowd. Parking Lot Greeter We are intentional about connecting with visitors and members and we start in the parking lot through the use of golf carts. Making people feel welcome, and at the same time assisting them into the building is the function of parking lot greeters. Front Door Greeter It is our commitment that every person who enters our building is welcomed in such a way that they feel accepted and loved. We are looking for people who are willing to serve as greeters one Sabbath a month. Name Tag Assistant As members and visitors attend our services we produce nametags for each person. For the most part this is an automated process but this requires volunteers to help. If you love meeting people and making them feel special and welcome this is the place for you. Guest Services Volunteer We are deliberate about connecting with visitors. Guest Services Volunteers are immediately connected with first time visitors. They provide visitors with a welcome bag containing several gifts and information about our church. They offer tours of the
6 Page 6 Page 7 Opportunities continued Opportunities continued building and explain a little about our services. Whatever a visitor needs, the Guest Services Volunteer is available to help meet their needs. Small Group As our church continues to grow, we are committed to building relationships through small groups. Small group Bible studies are available through the week usually located in a person s home. Small Group Co-leader Our approach to small groups is to have two people lead the group together. Group leaders should feel a desire to teach and lead discussions concerning the Bible and spiritual issues. We ask that co-leaders make at least a one-year commitment to leading the group. For anyone interested in leading a small group we have training available. Small Group Host We would like to offer small group Bible studies at different times and in various locations. In some cases, we have leaders who need a place to hold their meetings. Small group hosts will provide a meeting place once a week at a specific time. The group usually meets for a few hours. Church Life In order to keep things running smoothly at Baltimore First, we rely heavily upon our church life ministries. From the care of the grounds and building to helping with our services, this ministry is vital to our success. Lawn Care Volunteer All you have to do is look over our beautiful campus to know a lot of volunteers are needed to keep this place looking good. During the warmer seasons we need volunteers willing to help keep the lawn looking nice. We provide the equipment; we just need people willing to donate the time. Baptism Preparation You may have noticed we have a lot of baptisms here at Baltimore First. When we have a baptismal service, it requires significant preparations to make it run smoothly. The day before the service, we must run the water to the baptistery and begin heating the water. General cleaning and getting the changing rooms ready is also needed. Pew Materials Each pew in our auditorium has to be stocked with tithe envelopes, white cards and pens. We need volunteers that will ensure that each pew is fully stocked before our services begin. This can be done either before the service starts or at the conclusion of a service. Blanket Attendant We provide blankets during our worship service on Saturday mornings. We are looking for someone to fold up the blankets immediately after the service ends so they are ready to be used again the following week. Light Maintenance Volunteer With a building the size of ours we always have light maintenance that needs to be performed. There is a constant need to repair and replace small items around the church: lights, toilets, doors, locks, light bulbs, ceiling tiles, etc. Heat/Air Conditioning Engineer With more than a dozen heating and air conditioning units, we seem to always have something that needs attention. From repairing broken units to moving ducts or changing filters, we rely on volunteers to ensure everything keeps running efficiently. Roofer From time to time we find the rain not only falling on our building but also in our building. Mostly, we have leaks due to existing roof penetrations. We need volunteers that have knowledge of roofing that can help locate and repair leaks on our buildings. Electrician It seems we are always adding a light here or moving one there. Small electrical projects come up from time to time and we need volunteers that are capable of performing light electrical tasks. Light Construction Volunteer It seems our building is never quite like we want it, so we always seem to have some construction project going. We need volunteers that are capable of performing light construction tasks. Laying carpet, laying tile, hanging and finishing drywall are just some of the projects where we always have needs. Painter Do you like painting? Are you any good at it? If you can answer yes to those questions, we have a place for you. We need people willing to perform various painting projects, mostly indoors. Transportation Volunteer We frequently have people who call the church and would like to attend one of our services but have no transportation. If you have reliable transportation and wouldn't mind picking someone up to bring them to church, we have a ministry for you. Spiritual Life This ministry specifically focuses on the pastoral care of our church family. We have a responsibility to maintain contact with those who are struggling, physically and spiritually, and reassure them we care. Visitation Volunteers Do you like meeting people and getting to know them better? You might be interested in our visitation ministry. We need volunteers willing to pair up and visit some of our church family that attend infrequently. Visitation is usually performed on week nights once or twice a month. If you think you might be interested in serving in this area, training is available. Spiritual Mentor People that are just beginning their Christian walk sometimes need some extra attention to help them keep going in the right direction. It is the mentor s responsibility to maintain contact with their people, encouraging them and providing whatever support they need. Family Life Baltimore First is a family. As a family, we want to address the various needs that arise within the family. This ministry often meets needs that are outside the course of regular church services. Funeral Dinner Assistant When a death occurs in one of our families, we want to show our concern and support. One of the ways we do this is by providing a meal for the family on the day of the funeral. This volunteer may be involved in preparing a dish or two and delivering it to the dinner and if their schedule allows, they may also be asked to serve the meal.
