Nicole Davern has started a volunteering job at Bethanie Peel, Monday and Thursday she has a lot of potential there and they have even changed their roster to fit in her Art skills while she is there. It has only been a few weeks but Nicole has become a valuable part of their team. Well done, Nicole. In March Declan started volunteering at the Naragebup Environment Centre in Rockingham. Declan is a volunteer gardener there and does a variety of jobs including weeding, mulching and raking. Declan is very excited to go to his new job each week. Declan's confidence and enthusiasm has really grown and he is building up a great rapport with all of the volunteers at the centre. Declan says "I feel great and had a good start at my job. My favorite job is mulching, it's lots of hard work!"

5 Page 5 Residents at 470 Mulga decided to build their own chicken coop and yard. So they did their research and sourced some materials from a local business Azztek Kitchens who were happy to donate the wooden pallets instead of them becoming landfill. Staff and residents worked hard cemen ng and construc ng. The project is s ll ongoing and we will keep you updated on their progress. January Employee of the Month Michelle Carlin from Monclair is Employee of the Month for January Michelle follows all routine rosters and keeps the clients positive. One client did not go away over Christmas, so Michelle organised a day of kayaking with the client who absolutely loved it. She also presented a superb Christmas dinner with the families. Michelle is always willing to put in that little bit extra to make things work. Congratulations Michelle. February Employee of the Month Marlene Richter is Employee of the Month for February. Marlene goes out of her way to ensure all new staff are welcomed at Len Howard, helping educate them about house and medication routines and advising of any training required to help them succeed. Marlene makes sure all residents are heard and their needs met, using her fantastic communication skills to put plans into action. Congratulations on going above and beyond what is required Marlene. March Employee of the Month Christina Rawson for her extraordinary commitment going above and beyond for clients. In particular her efforts to help an individual with moving into his own home.
