4 Attendees: 134 The Homeless Heath Coordination Project facilitated the third annual Staff and Service Users Conference on 17 th April 2018 at The Abbey Community Centre. The theme of the conference was I want to improve my health in 2018 and attendees were encouraged to think about their own health and wellbeing and consider what areas of their health and wellbeing they would like to improve in Individual invitations sent out to staff and service users as well as the Eventbrite was used to book tickets about the event and a great record breaking number 134 staff and service users attended on the day. The day was a huge success and began with Registration, Networking and Lunch. Page 4 of 10

5 The programme began with an introductory presentation by Victoria Asservatham the Rough Sleeping Commissioning manager, who welcomed and shared the HHCP s project achievements to date. The first part of the conference consisted of presentations from Find & Treat by Dr Alistair Story about TB screening, Margaret Pitt from British Red Cross who gave a practical CPR demonstration/advice on how to recognise the signs of a heart attack along with live music by Adam Bulewski and two service users from St. Mungo s, Leigh Andrews who had a presentation on Acquired Brain Injury then followed a presentation on Kick it-smoking by Magdalena Przybyla from Westminster Kick-it Smoking. 7 The second part of the day consisted of presentations by two service users from St. Mungo s outside In: Tee talked about her experience of domestic violence and Jordan spoke about his experience of being a gay in Jamaica and how affected his mental health, along with a foot health awareness session. Unfortunately Anthony Feilden cancelled his session on visualisation and relaxation on the day because of some personal issues. Service users stories & Foot health The conference included staff and service users pledging how they could improve their health in Here are some of the examples of the health pledges made by the conference guests: Stop smoking Drink more water and exercise more Improve my dental health Eat more fruits Lose weight Get help with my Brian injury Get regular sleep To find myself To get closer to my family To find love Walk more Eat healthy Take care of my mental health Live without violence Drink less alcohol Make happy choices Smile more Page 7 of 10

9 The day concluded with a raffle where all the guests won prizes. Feedback forms from the day was very positive and rewarding and data from the evaluation forms illustrated that guests from the conference found the day very useful. 85% reported the conference very useful with 72% found the Page 9 of 10

10 speakers very useful and 96% of attendees agreed that the conference had increased their confidence to attend health appointments in the future. Many thanks to the staff, volunteers and students from St. Mungo s and the Groundswell peers that helped out on the day. Page 10 of 10
