Revit MEP Training The deadline for the early bird registration has passed but there are still some openings left. The REVIT training will be held here in St. Louis on March, 8-9. This is going to be a great event for those of us that are working in Revit. The training is geared specifically towards Plumbing so make sure you Register TO- DAY. Go to for more information. Charlie Gittos Gift Card Congratulations to Tim Biscan on winning the Charlie Gittos gift card and thank you to all that participated in the raffle. GPD Exam Registration is still open for the GPD Workshop and Exam. It will be held on February in Rosemont, Illinois (ASPE Headquarters). This workshop will also be available online so you can participate at your home or office on these days and then take the GPD exam on Wednesday Feb. 24 th at a local testing center. You must be a CPD or PE to take the test. (Continued on page 15) ASPE was organized to serve as a medium in the solution of professional problems pertaining to plumbing engineering as it affects the profession, community and the general public. Advance the general scientific interests of the plumbing engineering profession and to inculcate the desire of scientific achievement in the field among the members of the Association. This includes field investigation, load calculations, equipment selection, riser diagrams, layouts, and specifications. Construction Administration Participate in pre-bid and construction meetings, review shop drawings, resolve construction issues, review construction costs, perform construction progress and punch-list inspections. 5 5 VP Technical Report By John Fischer Jr. CHAPTER MEMBERS Happy Birthday to the St. Louis Chapter of ASPE, on our 40 th. signed and granted on January 31, Our charter was officially With us at our January meeting, as we celebrated the anniversary, was the representative of the Board of Directors, Bryan L. Hutton, ASPE Board Member, Region 5 Director, and a Piping System Consultant of The Lubrizol Corporation. His update on ASPE and his presentation on Ethics In Engineering reminding the audience of our responsibility as Engineers, designers, and installers, of our responsibility to our owners was interesting and informative. This month a presentation will be provided by Scott Blackmore from Blackmore and Glunt, Inc., a strategic business partner of Bell & Gossett. The subject will be on new technologies in two parts: Why modulation does improve efficiency in water heating (part 1) and an Introduction to ECM pumps in plumbing systems (part 2). There will be some time for questions after each part Suggestions for meeting presentations this year and next would be very much appreciated.. Continuing education certificates will be available for this meeting and several certificates remain for other months that were not previously retrieved. See you at the February meeting.

8 8 VP Legislative Report, Nicholas Hipp 2015 Triennial Code Adoption in California The 2015 Triennial Code Adoption Cycle will culminate with the publication of the 2016 California Building Standards Code, Title 24, and California Code of Regulations. The 2016 Code will be published on or before July 1, 2016 and will go into effect on January 1, Visit for additional information. St. Louis County Plumbing Code Review No current updates on when the next Plumbing Code Review Committee meeting will be. The St. Louis County Plumbing Code Review Committee is finishing up chapter 10 of the UPC and County Ordinances Traps and Interceptors. The next meeting should be the start of chapter 11. 15 15 President s Report By Paul Hellickson (Continued from page 1) CPD Exam Registration is NOW open for the CPD Exam which will be held on Thursday March 31 st and Friday April 1 st. Online registration closes on March 11 th. Tests will be held at local testing centers in the St. Louis area. That s all for now.
