Opportunities Prairie Grassroots This event is held in Springfield in February or March. Following a legislative update and luncheon, attendees visit the state capital to meet with their respective local representatives regarding current legislative issues affecting the architectural and construction industry. The day ends with a networking reception which includes state elected officials, representatives from the state agencies, and member architects. This event typically has an average attendance of 100 architects from across the state. Honor Awards The Honor Awards Program is an event that recognizes the people and projects representing the best of the architectural profession in Illinois, the power of design, and the dedication of individuals to service and excellence. This event is held in Springfield during Architecture Week in April, and has an average attendance of 100 architects from across the state. Leadership Institute The AIA Illinois Leadership Institute is a biennial event designed to recruit, train and sustain current and future leadership talent in support of meeting AIA Illinois leadership goals. Attendees are members who have never before had an opportunity to be an AIA leader, as well as those members that want to further develop and enhance their leadership skills. This one-day event includes educational sessions given by hand-selected speakers, a working lunch and networking reception. Annual Conference The Annual Conference is held in early November and provides an opportunity for attendees to network and participate in continuing education opportunities on a variety of topics. The conference includes a networking reception, keynote speakers, seminars, local building tours, and a sponsor expo which provides sponsors the opportunity to showcase their products and services. The event location rotates throughout the state of Illinois. This event has an average attendance of 175 architects.
