She graciously thanked the other members for supporting her during her term and the remaining members expressed their appreciation for her role as a board member as well as her and the Communications Team's work in launching and publishing the Newsletter. o She asked that comments regarding the change in format with the last issue published by Crystal and her be given to Judy Cameron, our new editor o Mary suggested Jennie Campos as a speaker in the future. YES 29 81% NO 0 0% No response 7 19% Why or why not? NR Don t have expectations. YES Social!!! No comment other than I like meeting interesting people. YES First time, so I did not know what to expect. YES Great. Get to gather with old friends! NR I m not sure what my expectations were. I really thought more of my colleagues would participate. YES Good blend of Business and Programs. YES Nice connections. Nice presentations. YES But hope to see more people from Hughes / Raytheon. YES I mainly look for the opportunity to get together 2-3 times a year. YES Great to see old friends. YES Recommend raffles or other incentives. Even free drinks sometimes. NR First meeting. Knew nothing about the organization. YES Speaker was good. YES Very nice dinner events. Would like more social events. 2. Have the past year s events been affordable? YES 27 75% NO 3 8% No response 6 17% Why or why not? YES Very interesting speaker tonight very much enjoyed. NO Try for $20 or less. YES Very much. YES Decreasing cost would cut quality of food. YES Pima Air Museum event very expensive for what we got. NR I thought the meals were overpriced UNTIL I found out we were being charged exactly what HTRA has to pay. It s fair. NO Could use some cheaper events. YES I can afford them. YES Keep at or below $30 per person. NO - $25 - $30 really is pretty steep (for me at least). YES Have a chance to see old friends Worth every penny. Question 2 Discussion Notes: Hold event costs to $30 or under Plan at least one event per year that would cost between $15 and $20 Consider holding a picnic at a park - would need to be a spring or fall event 3. Have the past year s events been enjoyable? YES 31 86% NO 0 0% No response 5 14% Why or why not? YES Interesting venues and great people! NR My first time. YES Appreciated different speakers. YES Hotels, meals have been great. YES Everyone I have attended has been very enjoyable. I wish more colleagues. YES I like to learn things. YES Programs, for most part, have been informative and entertaining. YES I enjoyed them. YES People at these events are friendly, interesting, and have much in common. YES Good settings and speakers. YES Stillwell house (sp?) nice. Pima Air tonight good. YES Great seeing and visiting with former co-workers. YES Have a chance to see old friends. Question 3 Discussion Notes: Consider holding a wine tasting Feedback from the HAC luncheon attendees on Dec 2 -some expressed issues about driving at night and transportation 4. Would you prefer more frequent socials (i.e. quarterly)? Would you support changing the name to Tucson Missile Systems Employees Association in order to attract more members? YES 29 81% NO 4 11% No response 3 8% NO Proud of Hughes. If a name is picked that has Raytheon in it, I will drop membership. YES Don t need Tucson in the name. MSEA. YES Would be good to add the other legacy companies. NR I m not sure it would work. The colleagues that I would want to join are all Hughes legacy employees. If you are convinced this is why we have lower membership, I support the change. YES I have never been part of Hughes, so changing the name would make me feel more welcome. Is it deliberate to include Employees instead of Retirement? That would be more inclusive also, especially for those of us still working but with a retired spouse. YES The only question I would ask is the goal to reach all employees or just retirees from this plant site? If retirees, then it should be in title. YES Important to have the more inclusive name. YES The name change is essential as some people are boycotting because their legacy was with another organization not Hughes! YES Broaden the possible membership base. (Membership is a problem for every organization!) YES Great idea. YES Don t think changing the name would make much difference though. YES I found out about the organization by accident. Change of name would help; have RMS pass on info to retirees, and find other ways to let retirees know about the organization. NO I like the Hughes legacy emphasis since I go back to YES The company is comprised of many conglomerates at this time. I think the name should be changed. YES I ve had people approach me regarding the name at the club IT, Texas Instruments employees don t like us being called Hughes Tucson. They feel left out. Question 6 Discussion Notes: The BoD determined that changing the Hughes Tucson Retirees Association (HTRA) name to Missile Systems Retirees Association (MSRA) would be appropriate at this time and will be put to a yes or no vote at the February 5 luncheon of the general membership. The vote will determine the association name (either HTRA or MSRA) going forward The incoming BoD will discuss and make the appropriate plans should the name change Survey Analysis prepared by Rob Van Sice - BoD discussions notes have been added Page 3

7 Attachment A General Meeting Survey 13 November 2014 (General)Comments: 1. Challenge is we meet interesting people, but because events are infrequent (we) don t see them again. Doesn t build relationships. Re. frequency: As many go out of town in summer, probably better to do socials beginning August or September thru May. If in December and people love holiday parties I d recommend either early December or New Year s. 2. I recently retired and had not participated in any activities, so I don t have a good feel for what has happened previously. I did enjoy this event, partially because I was in the Air Force. 3. Can t answer 4 & 5, my first social. 4. Suggest limiting charity budget to 10%. Give us a significant time to make nominations. 5. Suggested meeting venues: [1] Desert Museum (I can help with this Carol Hubbard), [2] Botanical Gardens (That worked well with another organization), [3] Tucson Art Museum. Daytime is harder to coordinate. 6. A holiday party early in December, before December 15 th. 7. Let s include GD, IT, and Raytheon heritage employees and retirees. 8. For events, need to take in consideration that many retirees are at ages where they are not real mobile. 9. Get the word out. 10. Feb 5 is during Gem Show. 11. In the future, don t hold the Feb. meeting during the gem show. 12. Could the HTRA organize a tour of the UA Mirror Lab? 13. I suggest other formats such as a wine and cheese tasting instead of a lunch or dinner/ This might also reduce the cost which would be good. 14. Evenings are easier to accommodate, but luncheons could be a nice variety. 15. We are snowbirds and cannot attend summer events. 16. I feel that there should be day trips throughout the year (i.e., wine country, NASCAR, museums, places in AZ and local events. 17. Louie (sp?) has put forth a lot of effort towards tours, cruises, etc. Day trips would be a great idea along with 2-3 day and weekend trips.
