2 Since our founding in 2004, QuisLex has made it part of its mission to give back to our communities. We recognize the importance, value, and benefits of corporate citizenship and actively engaging with and supporting the communities we serve was no exception. QuisLex employees devoted thousands of hours to two of our most cherished endeavors: a Hyderabadbased orphanage housing at-risk girls, and the QuisLex Primary School. We also continue to launch new initiatives related to education, health and nutritional awareness in underprivileged communities in India. We support organizations in the United States that serve disadvantaged groups, with a focus on those that seek to protect the rights of the most vulnerable and underrepresented in society. Our charitable work continues to be an essential part of who we are as a company, and as CEO, I am proud of the work QuisLex and our employees undertake to help those who are less fortunate and underserved. While we receive a number of awards and recognition for the work we do for our clients, our charitable contributions rank as one of our greatest successes and we are honored to be able to give back to our communities. 3 QuisLex s Social Responsibility Program is aimed at: 1. promoting education, especially among children, women, the elderly, and the differently abled 2. eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition through promotion of health care, particularly preventive care and hygiene instruction for children 3. increasing access to clean drinking water in India 4. supporting gender equality and empowering women, including: a. establishing and supporting homes and hostels for women and orphans b. establishing old age homes, day care centers, and other facilities for senior citizens c. implementing measures to address the inequalities faced by socially and economically disadvantaged groups 5. ensuring environmental sustainability and ecological balance, through programs aimed at protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources, and maintaining the quality of soil, air, and water We are especially proud of the QuisLex Primary School, which we adopted in 2010: In addition to funding teachers salaries and providing computers, notebooks, textbooks, and other necessary materials, we: a. have established a library and continually provide children s books in English, Telugu and Hindi b. have recently built a playground and created landscaped gardens on the grounds c. helped rebuild toilets and washrooms b. facilitate vocational skills training c. raise funding for the self employment of women d. increase awareness in nutrition and health QuisLex employees frequently spend time at the school instructing children in the use of technology, as well as teaching English and other core skills necessary to their future success. Additional key CSR initiatives in India include: 1. supporting a Hyderabad-based orphanage housing at-risk girls since 2006, providing food, primary health care, volunteer teachers, computers, and planned activities. QuisLex employees volunteer time with children as well as donate clothes and food 2. funding education, health and nutritional awareness programs in underprivileged communities. 3. contributing to disaster relief efforts, such as donating food and other essentials in response to the devastation wrought by Cyclone Hudhud 4. participating in AIDS awareness education 5. participating in Annual Blood Donation Drives 6. planting thousands of saplings during go green initiatives and at our adopted school on World Environment Day QuisLex has established a charitable trust for the continued support of all of these efforts. Law Foundation of Silicon Valley The Law Foundation of Silicon Valley advances the rights of under-represented individuals and families in our diverse community through legal services, strategic advocacy, and educational outreach. Make Room for Debate (Chicago Debate Commission Annual Luncheon) The CDC advocates for and helps establish debate programs in Chicago Public Schools, works closely with CPS to manage and promote the program, generates community support for debate through outreach to individuals, corporations, foundations, and public officials, and raises substantial private funding to support debate for Chicago students. SABANY (The South Asian Bar Association of New York) Founded in 1996, the South Asian Bar Association of New York (SABANY) is an organization of South Asian attorneys practicing in the New York City metropolitan region. SABANY is dedicated to the needs, concerns, and interests of lawyers of South Asian heritage. We are committed to promoting the professional development of the South Asian legal community through networking, advocacy, and mentoring. Each year we host panels, CLE courses, and workshops on career development, social justice issues, and current events. We also organize networking events, a Public Interest Fellowship Benefit, and a Leadership Awards Gala. SABANY is dedicated to ensuring the civil liberties of the South Asian community in New York, by acting as a conduit between the South Asian community and legal services and educational programs in the area. It is our goal to educate South Asian Americans about their legal system and to encourage more participation by our community in the legal profession. Urban Justice Center For 30 years, the Urban Justice Center has served New York City s most vulnerable residents through a combination of direct legal service, systemic advocacy, community education and political organizing. We assist our clients on numerous levels, from one-on-one legal advice in soup kitchens, to helping individuals access housing and government assistance, to filing class action lawsuits to bring about systemic change.
